Getting my parents one for Xmas and want to know some things about them. We've got one in work but wanna know if it's possible to transfer music and movies on to it easy enough.
No, I don't have one because tablets are pointless devices that fill a market that should not exist. Do we really need a device between a smartphone and a netbook?
If they are anything like netbooks in terms of performance then don't bother. The tablet is a waste of time anyway. It's too big to fit in a pocket and as such I do not need it when I'm out and about. The iPad is made by apple and as such will have limited Connectivity and some DRM protection on most file types, but its mildly pretty so loads of spastics will get one because Steve jobs says so.
A device were older folk can hit a button and automatically get on the web. I and millions more people would say yes, they are needed.
I don't think Medros Ma and Da are going to be running about the town high flying with one in their pocket. A few Daniel O'Donnell tunes of a sunday evening. My uncle got one and loves it.
Medro, the ipad 2 is so easy to use. Obviously, I've no idea how old your folks are (25/30? ;0) but they won't break it and transferring music, videos and photos to it is so easy. They just need to get themselves an iTunes account and they are away. Pages and Keynote (Apple's versions of Word and Powerpoint) are good and cheap - about £7 each - and then there are all the other apps and books etc. I'm sure they'd love it. All you need to do now is stick one into your tin foil bag ad get past the security man Good luck
can't you use icloud to do that? i have no idea, not having anything Apple, but i'm sure that's what it's for...correct me if i'm wrong (but be gentle )
Only get 5gb with iCloud before you have to pay for more storage so syncing on laptop etc is best on the whole.
