What? Anyone else hope villa mess up or is there anyone else we'd like to cock up? Can't say I'm particularly bothered either way. Just hope WE put in a decent showing.
Not at all interested in Villa or any other team for that matter. I am only concerned about my team and what they do.
Points understood gentlemen but I have thought what will the influx of 12 new signings do for team morale and how will those players that got them promoted feel about the newcomers getting all the glory - having spent all that money they cannot not play them? It will be a huge test of Dean Smith's managerial skills. Fulham ballsed up last year but didn't spend on the number of signings like Villa have done. Also, for the fans, it will be a completely new team to support and they will know hardly anything about most of them. Should they get relegated, while they will have the parachute payment, the club is likely to implode in a way not seen before. If memory serves me correctly wasn't it likely they would be in the financial do doos if they hadn't got promoted?
Correct - if they hadn't gone up, they'd have been in deep, deep ****e. Now they have gone up, they're spending big to stay up because they know the retrospective consequences of coming back down like QPR found out. I hope Prince William has got a few bob to chuck their way as he's such a big fan.
Surely this season Brighton will come unstuck. Sheff U have spent a lot but IMO have wasted money. Villa likewise. Not sure what Norwich have done. I reckon Brighton, Sheff U & Norwich to drop.
Don't like Villa or Wolves - both sets of fans must be the most arrogant around. I know City fans have their own opinions. For instance Hillts obviously doesn't like the scousers, but that's the way it goes and is probably an historical thing based on personal experience. I'll stick with that Midlands duo, though I must say I do like the football that Santo is playing - you can't argue with that.
I don't mind Villa. There's a lot of fans in Gloucestershire and they seem ok. Certainly not as arrogant as some fans from a certain Yorkshire club. But if they do crash this season, it will be with an almighty bang!
It's far too easy to generalise, but as I said, most of us form opinons about clubs (and supporters) from personal experience. The Midland clubs, with the exeption of West Brom who I've always liked, are not for me - Villa, Wolves and even Brum historically are the pits as far as their fans are concerned - sorry...... Funnily enough, the certain "Yorkshire club" never bothered me other than the often aggressive football rivalry. Their supporters may still live in the past and recount the "glory days", but by and large they are a pretty decent lot. They may be hard hitting in some of their forum contributions, but most of it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. In the flesh and especially on their home turf, I've found them up for a pint and a chat in the past.
Another one that can shove their prawn sarnies and clappers where the sun don't shine is the Cottagers. I used to have a lot of time for them, but the arrogance and the "God Given Right" attitude of the season before last just left a really sour taste with me.
