Just wondering. Doesn't look like there's any Burnley posters in Burnley either for that matter. It's about 2pm and waiting for that all-important team selection from Malky just now - that is going to be very interesting. Big man/little man up front, or carry on with the Earnie/Miller combo and Whitts further forward this time? Can't wait.
Hmmm.....looks like more of the same then. 01 Marshall 02 McNaughton 03 Taylor 05 Hudson 06 Gerrard 07 Whittingham 08 Cowie 11 Conway 09 Miller 10 Earnshaw 20 Mason Substitutes 22 Heaton, 12 Keinan, 14 Quinn, 23 Blake, 15 Gestede
Hi SweetBlue - what do you make of Malky sticking to last Wednesday's team? Possible vote of confidence to allow them to exorcise the ghost?
I was in Burnley last season but not today. Took a bum numbing 6 hours on the coach in April. Sat at home in grey Bridgend today, egg chasers on the tele but not watching. I see Aaron has scored in the Ar5ena1 v. Liverpool game, but for Liverpool. I'm surprised Malky has stuck with the same 11 and same subs as well. I thought Rudy would have got a start and there is a danger we could be over run in midfield again. Anyway, Malky knows best, I hope.
Also interesting to see 3 of the 4 outfield subs being defensive options again as opposed to the earlier game bench choices. Is he hoping to snatch an Earnie/Miller goal up there and then defend it? This is going to be a real interesting season with Malky at the helm.
With the injuries to Kiss, Gunnar, McPhail and Taiwo I guess he is limited by only having Parkin and youngsters available upfront and in midfield with a few senior defenders not even making the bench. There is an inbalance in the sqaud and it emphasises the need for 3 or 4 more players, preferably a winger/midfielder, out and out winger and another midfielder at least. With the versatility of some of our defenders we can easily afford to offload Naylor and Gyepes.
Bu££er. I had a not very good feeling about this one and not much opportunity to change things around from the bench.
Am listening on FM radio.. =/ Cant really say that we have had the ball. Sounds like they'll get a second goal here
CC player is just fine. Early doors but looks like we're having a torrid time at the back and going for the long ball to get out of our half. Ball over the top bypassing the midfield is going to do Earnie/Miller no favours at all. Change the tactics or get Rudy on - yes I know it's early but it looks like they'll get a second before we get our first.
Only positive comment has been about a young Mr Mason, Whitts sounds ok, but our front two sound hopelessely outmuscled and out"heightened". We are lucky to be in this, Malky needs to sort this out, if not I agree with Sparkey ^
Sorry for the constant posts, but for those who cant perhaps tune in, looks like we might have just survived that onslaught conceding one goal, look to be getting a slight foothold in the game but ... no. Still see Burnley getting a second here. Will slow my posts =]
