I'm planning a trip to Germany, at the moment I'm leaning towards Bremen as that is where my parents came from. Has anybody been and could recommend some good locations?
yes -years ago stayed in cologne what struck me how clean it is,police are very hot on litter if drop any in the street you get fined on the spot!we where suposed go to one of the dambs when was at school but due to bad weather on the day was cancelled.I think it was ada damb.definetly go back love to watch skolke 64 i think they called
Frankfurt and Dortmund for the 2006 World Cup. Had a great time, plenty of beer and got ripped off for the tickets! Good times
Wall to wall bars mate. If you go, try the Reeperbahn & all the little streets that run off it. Grosse Freihite Strasse. Wall to wall pussy.
Reeperbahn is great, largest red light area in Europe if you like that sort of thing (don't take the children/wife). If you can venture further south then I recommend Heidelberg next to the Rhine and has a fireworks display every weekend, lots of bars and the most friendly people in Europe, strange really cos when Germans are on holiday they are ****s but when in thier domain the nicest. Also Hof next to the Czech border is very scenic and beer is the best I have tasted bar Czech Republic itself.
Ive only ever been to Berlin , not seen anywhere else in the country. Had an excellent time there though rather stupidly the last thing I did was go to the Jewish museum and Holocaust memorial ; worth doing, just dont do it last.
