BBC reporting Chelsea in talks about selling Schurrle. Call me crazy but why would we sell him?? He scores and makes goals and, after a settling in year, is surely (no pun intended) ready to really fire up. Can think of one or two others I would let go before him if financial regs are a problem.

Good player, could understandably be concerned about where he fits into the first team. A player like him doesn't need to waste years being a squad player.

Thats true enough, but all the big teams have squads and rotate. He is by far our best back up "striker", and can play wide or behind. Haven"t heard anything about the "attitude" problem that seems to afflict our young creative players according to Jose, so just don"t get it.

He's just won the World Cup and may not want to be a back up or squad player.

Reckon hes almost a starter. No sense in him leaving or us getting rid imo.

Can't see him not being a start to be honest.
    I would go 4-3-2-1 with:

    ----------Courtois-----------

    Azpi---Cahill-----Terry---Luis

    --Fabregas---Matic---Oscar--

    Schurrle---------------Hazard

    ------------Costa------------

Our best XI for me, though you could argue for a place for Ivan

Wouldn't describe Schurrle as a 'creative' player, more direct and a shooter.

Besides Hazard, what other young 'creatives' has Jose had a problem last season? The Belgium and Lyon coach also censured Hazard too for being lazy in training etc

Aye I been thinking the same in retrospect.
But which of the back four would you swap him out with?
You could take out azpi and stick Ivan at RB, or take out Cahill and stick Ivan at CB.

As great as Dave was last year, I'd perhaps put Ivan at right back cos he gives you so much from set pieces at both ends.

Good side but I don't think we'll have a set 11 by any means. Hazard is a definite starter most weeks as are Fabregas and Matic. But I think Ramieres, Oscar, Schurrle and Willian will all rotate quite a bit.

Perhaps he's peeved about the fact he will be unlikely to ever be a starting player for you? And could arguably get into the first 11 in many of the top European teams

What are you even basing this on? He's been with us for 1 season and is still very young.

purely my opinion, it is a forum after all...
Still, selling shurrle would be less ******ed than agreeing to sell Mata to United

Yes it's fairly obvious that it's your opinion, I'm asking you what you are basing it on?

What's ******ed about selling a player (for a lot more than you paid for him) that doesn't fit into the manager's system?

He is a good player but was wasted on our bench, much like De Bruyne. For the money we re-couped for those 2 we pretty much bought Costa and Fabregas and are now favourites for the title. Not too shabby.

The fact that he played a bit part for you last season and is far too good to be sat rotting on a bench. He's 23, he should be playing regularly

The fact that he was sold to United and is now one of the most influential and important players in their team
