Depending on the Operating system you are using there are various ways to get there, but you need to get to Device Manager. If you type Device Manager into the search in your start menu it should find it. Once in Device Manager your sound card should be listed under 'Sound, video and game controllers' - if it's not in there the drivers have been messed up. It will probably be listed under 'Other Devices' with an exclamation mark beside it. Anyway if the device is in there then try update the drivers on it, or else if your using Vista or Windows 7 you can try uninstalling it, then next time you turn on the computer it will restart itself.
