Morning all! Completely off topic in terms of QPR, but I wanted to see if any of you work in IT and get involved in that area of the business. I work for an IT supplier and all my clients support either Arsenal, Chelsea or Utd and it would be nice to actually talk about QPR instead of listening to them go on about teams I don't care about and maybe do business at the same time! I spend 50 hours a week in front of a few macs and 45 hours putting together concepts and 30 hours a week discussing what rubbish is coming out next. We are totally Mac networked and there is rarely any issues to do I handle my studio's upgrades or problems and i may spend 5 hours a year doing that ... however everyday recently I watch networks fail and fall. I work direct off our global satellite server which holds some of the biggest worldwide accounts ... simply put it cannot and will never fail or go down.
Really? Only 5 hours a year. A lot if my clients spend their lives firefighting issues. Guess it depends on your environment.
Seriously we have a few blokes (uk) who get mega bucks to keep it all going ... I cannot begin to tell you how big the concern it I design for but its big ... from Coca Cola in the states downwards to almost large scale financial operation in the city really worldwide 69 studios worldwide on the major accounts and everything is mirrored x5. Wa have a operating revenue of £53 Billion It has to be that way we cannot afford any IT issues but as we work inside the companies we hold accounts for i get to see a load of problems that must cost them millions we are often waiting. Before i get comments I struggle everyday working for these bastards ethically please believe me
Don't work in IT but can tell you every year we give the Christmas party responsibility to one Dept. In the 40 year history of the Company we've never given it to IT as we don't want the party during Easter!
I work for a big IT services company and am also very sick of hearing about arsenal and man u etc, drives me mad!!
What sort of IT services? It's all I hear about.....had a long email this morning from one of my clients moaning about Arsenal and thought I really need some QPR fans as clients!
Im a project manager and we deliver anything and everything from win7 deployments to complete datacentre builds. yes if i hear another arsenal fan say how much of a hard life they have i will be forced to through something heavy at them!!!
My work already have a supplier frank but I do some ordering so would be worthwhile getting the details
