Towards the end of the transfer window SB was heavily linked with a loan move for David Meyler, so it's fair to say he identified a need for a central midfielder. Nothing has changed so why are we no longer looking to fill this void? Apparently SB also tried to sign both Jay Bothroyd and Billy Sharp at the end of the window, so again why do we no longer seem interested in getting another striker, especially considering the serious doubts about Fryatt's fitness?
I don't recall us seeming interested in signing Jay Bothroyd or Bill Sharp at the time either. It mainly came out afterwards. Who is to say we aren't doing similar stealth manoeuvres behind the scenes right now ?
We did enquire about Bothroyd, but he'd already pretty much sorted his deal with the Wendies. Bruce wasn't after Sharp, that was the Allam's.....again.
I might be wrong but I thought we were still chasing Meyler after we got Quinn but Sunderland decided to hang on to him.
