Our back 4 is looking really makeshift at the moment, and since we have such a strong attack, why not play to our strenghs? If we played a 3-2-5-1 we'd still have a solid defensive mid pairing anyway and the goals'd be raining down. ----------------------Mig------------------------- ---------Bardsley--Celluar---O'Shea------------ ---------------Colback---Larsson---------------- --Johnson----------------------------McClean--- ---------------Dempsey----Sess----------------- ----------------------Fletcher-------------------- Or if we didn't get Dempsey: ----------------------Mig------------------------- ---------Bardsley--Celluar---O'Shea------------ ---------------Colback---Larsson---------------- --Johnson----------------------------McClean--- ------------------------Sess---------------------- --------------Fletcher---------Saha--------------
I don't rate him tbh, he can be good but he's too much of a walking red card. Colback can do his job anyway, and he can also pass
Was watching the match last night, and for large parts of it it seemed to be what we were doing anyway, with either gardner or colback bombing up
Not as well as Cattermole can - I rate Colback but Cattermole is a much better player - and if you watched him last night he played 6 or 7 SUCCESSFUL long range passes to the wing and 3 or 4 which missed their targets and went out for throw ins! Catternole versus Arsenal last week was MOTM for me - Last night after he went off we looked more vulnerable as well. I hate that people say "He can't pass" when, if seb larsson had the same passing stats as cattermole last night, everyone would remember the tremendous long passes that he played and not the ones that went astray Yes vince he certainly is - and Martin O'Neill took him off so he didn't get banned for Saturday (and he said that in the email he sent me!) so I will stick with Martin's view!
what I got told last night was we went with... -------------- Westwood -------------- Gardner -- O'Shea ---- Bramble - Colback ------- Larsson --------- Catts -------- Johnson ------ Sessegnon ----- McClean --------------- Fletcher --------------- thats the formation I would like to see and I would say our first XI for the foreseeable would be.. --------------- Mignolet --------------- Gardner -- O'Shea ---- Cuellar - Colback ------- Larsson --------- Catts -------- Johnson ------ Sessegnon ----- McClean --------------- Fletcher --------------- I would love to see us sign 3 players, a LB, a RB and if we are to make another top drawer signing I hope its a a classy CM to play next to Catts I posted about going 3/5/2 if we managed to get Dempsey the other day but I would much prefer the 4/2/3/1 which we went with last night
EVERY week without a doubt - best DM at the club by a long way (and this is not in detriment to the other Defensive midfielders - he's just good IMO) - contrary to popular belief he CAN pass a ball and is excellent in the tackle - one moment of red mist since Martin O'Neill arrived at the club (after the game against the mags - and we all though the ref was a ****!)
i think with 3-2-5-1 we'd win more games than we lose! Wigan were very successful with a 3-4-3 last season and a lot of Italian teams played it last year, prompting the national team to adopt it at the Euros. Could be the future! --------------------Mig ----------bardo JOS Cuellar Larsson Catts Gardner Mcclean ------AJ ------- Flecth-------Sess
You havn't read this thread have you? You have to many players, which some may deem illegal. You have the correct number of players in your line up, but not 3-2-5-1
yes, i have read it, hence my (supposedly) humorous comment that we'd win a lot of games with the 12 player line up. Thanks for your concern, though.
