Deadline today (5 pm) for loans. Do we need any? Are we likely to get one? Torn on this. Feel our team strong (if Oxo/LaLa ok), so we only want someone who can add to the squad. I think the main problem is that players who are good enough to contribute won't come to League 1.
I am still far from convinced that Nigel has the same pulling power that Alan had. For all of his faults Alan could always manage to bring in reinforcements that improved the squad and team.
I agree that you can overcome the drawback of being League 1 if your manager is a 'big name', but I'm willing to bet that AP wouldn't have been with us now even if he hadn't been sacked. Give NA a few more years experience and he will make a name for himself. I hope we've got ourselves a gem who may grow with us. It would make a change from being used by more famous managers just on their way through to 'better' things.
Whoops, started new thread before I saw you had broken the news. Sounds good...scored 10 goals and played regularly. Surprised they let him go.
Maybe he has a problem at Oldham. Played 37 times and was in the team on Tuesday so hardly someone who you would expect to leave. Nigel reported to have been following for a while so just maybe he is one for our future as well as the now.
Surely it's cash that's doing the talking... in one of the interviews I think it mentions us coming back with a different financial package - there could well be a decent fee for the loan.
Oldham are another club who's finances are f*cked i think, we probably gave them a bit of cash and took his wages of their hands to keep them afloat for a bit longer
