if it was a list of how fast they fall over after being touched it would be more believable.

Rooney's not even in the top ten fastest in the Prem never mind the world. :)

Maybe they timed Rooney running to KFC before it closed....

Jokes aside, this seems utter bollocks. Does this count with or without the ball? Messi is quick with the ball but not having him as 6th fastest without it. Most of these guys are white for a start. Look at a general 100m sprint final - pretty much all black men.

FIFA made those stats based on performance of players in recent international tournaments, sure they didn't measure how fast is every player in the planet <doh>

No but you'd think they would have measured every fast player at the tournaments <laugh> Rooney is not even 7th in the PL I would imagine.

Wonder how they did the testing. Is it over a certain distance? With the ball or without the ball?

Anyways Rooney probably isn't even the 7th faster player at United. <laugh

Rafael, Fabio, Valencia, Hernandez, Welbeck, Smalling, Buttner, and probably Zaha are faster than Rooney, and I'm sure there's more too. <laugh>

did you noticed they didn't wrote speed in km/h <laugh>.. will not be surprised if is done by someone sitting in his dark room just sorting players subjectively like he want without any real measurement ....hahaha there is no real source on which establishment did those measurement.. but who need that when there is no measurement in the first place !!! <laugh>

FIFA one though did have the measures and it is about the top speed a player reached during any match in main international tournaments.. I read somewhere that Valenica was not in top but he break into the top spot in one match after producing a maximum speed during one match
