Can I write on this? If not Rackem get a mod to delete the post <ok>

I like the look of Roma (top 3 finish), Lyon (top 3 finish), Norwich (relegated) ........ 5/1 treble

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deleted the others at the request of the OP, but left this on as it is thread-related.

Some very decent tips, I wouldn't be surprised if most of them come in but no doubt 3 or 4 will put a spanner in the works. I don't think I could bring myself to back them at short odds like that tbh.
I don't want to clog your thread up but if you don't mind I'll chuck one potential bet into the ring at bigger odds:
Top goalscorer bet (I would recommend each way at 1/4 odds for top 4)
Premier league - Christian Benteke at around 14/1
Championship - Darren Bent at around 14/1
League 1 - Billy Sharp at around 8/1
League 2 - Jon Stead at around 25/1
I'm going to have a go at this as a small each way yankee bet just for a bit of fun.

The key is to just use one or two of the short odds fella, put your accumulator in with the longest odds first, then add the short odds choices last and watch your odds bump. It's surprising how much they have effect 4 fold onward. I always wack a dead cert onto a treble.

I'm with Grimbsy on this one lads, backing heavily odds on isn't for me as well. You would probably only get about evens for 3 or 4 of them tips and that doesn't represent value for money to me, or am I missing something?

But when it's the dead cert that knocks your bet and the rest have come in at decent odds, that's a nightmare!

Remember, gambling is lots of thing but sometimes it's about a gut feeling and a leap of faith.

Yes, some prices are poor, however, believe it or not, the 1/6 for Arsenal finishing in the top four is amazing value IMO....I was guessing they would be 1/12 or worse.

And I agree that collectively some selections may only give an 'evens' return, but if you add that 'even money' collective to your own selections, it simply doubles your return.....Happy Days !!.

I'm going to post my own collective bets for the season later on.

I do the same throughout the season mate, my weekly bets generally include at least one team that is odds on (though I try to steer clear of over 1/2 because I think the bookies take the piss with some of these). I just think that for a season long bet small stakes big odds is the way to go and if you get lucky a big pay out in May, each to thier own though I wouldn't be surprised to see Rackem win a few quid out of some of his selections come May.

    Bingo!

That's where the value is. I've just done £5 per treble, on two trebles for my season long bets. One pays £125 and one pays £327. Both have very good chances too.

Okay I respect your decision buddy, but why spite yourself ?

Agreed, the bookies give nothing away, and neither would I if I was a bookie. That said, before looking at coupons to seek out value, my general rule of thumb is to firstly choose my fancies through the criteria I always use.(without odds/prices).... Why ?...because regardless of what the bookies think, my or your conclusions should never be governed, persuaded or influenced by a third party, meaning - If I think a team should win....then it should win whatever price it's given.

The bottom line is this - If that team wins and you shunned that team because of it's odds to win, and the remainder of your selections won, then in effect, you have thrown money down the pan !
Again, respect to you too Funky as it's obvious that long term Anti-post predicting is a much harder challenge.

But to me that's the buzz !...An Anti-post 'season-long bet' has long longevity, it does as it says - it lasts all season. You and your mates can discuss how your bets are progressing as the season unfolds. I love these bets. ....Small stakes can win you a lot of money too.

Hey mate, you don't have to explain yourself. Everyone has their own techniques in betting which works for them, some bet high stakes on dead certs, some small small stakes on long shots spread across multiple bets, some more middle ground. Some bump odds with dead certs or double chances, some like the goals scored markets. Everyone is different and have their own ways. :)

Betting philosophies aside mate, each to their own and all that. So long as we all keep it fun and don't bet what we can't afford to lose then I don't think their is a wrong approach to it. I hope we all just do it for a bit of fun, though it is nice to get a few quid back at the end as well like. I look forward to comparing betting slips throughout the season mate :emoticon-0148-yes:

M K Dons to win the championship is a great bet to me, they will be like Bournemouth, and Charlton will do well. The Boro for the top 6. What abut Hearts ? 3 wins from 3 back in the Scottish premier. Than quan Nihn vs Hoang anh gia lai will be close mind you ! I reckon a 1-0.
