Craig Shakespeare has said Anthony Knockaert has some future here and will be an massive asset to the club. He also said how Steve Walsh scouted him and Nigel liked what he saw Last week Knockaert made his debut for France under 21's and he scored. After the game the French media was wondering why none of them big French club snapped him up. Knockaert has all the skills and ability to go very far. I think he is the most skilful player to play in this league since Adel Taarabt Onto another thing. When Sven was blowing all that money on rubbish the owners probably thought they would never see that money again. Nigel has probably recouped that money already in assets. Liam Moore, Danny Drinkwater, Ben Marshall, Kasper Schmeichel, Matty James, Anthony Knockaert and Ritchie De Laet all have been brought in in the last year and when we do sell them on I think we will easy make the owners money back up and maybe with a tidy profit aswell The Steve Walsh scouting network paying off as ever
I agree. I dont think we should get carried away because at the moment he is making some wrong decisions and is still very raw, and also isnt THAT young, but yes - he looks one hell of a player. Just goes to show when someone like stewart was £4m or something ridiculous you can just go abroad with the right scouts!!
He'll end up like Gradel i recon, apart from he'll skip the Leeds bit Agree that hes "passionate" about the game, but some refs are going to see this as aggression and card him (alot like Gradel tbh, what is it with these French players we find!), but when hes on the ball, he occasionally looks like he could be Leicesters little Ronaldo
Sven only signed Kasper from the list. In 2 or 3 years if De Laet and James reach their potential they will be worth a lot more then the 1M we paid
Not from what I have seen.Liam Moore came through the youth set up and Danns was a free I would play them.
I think De Laet is quality, the lad is liek dynamite down the right. As for James, its hard to tell. All his work is the 'unsung hero' type. He hasnt won me over yet, though neither has he lost me. I think De Laet was a good price and i think we paid for James what he was worth.
De laet is **** was **** for Sheffield Utd and for Norwich and if he hadn't latched on to Man U you wouldn't have had to pay a penny for him! I know its slightly hypocritical calling your players **** seen as most of ours are but O well
He looks good going forward but unconvinced about his defensive capabilities. Certainly an improvment on Peltier.
De Laet looks very good going forward. Reminds me of Kyle Naughton at times. Defensively there is room improvement defensively but he looks a very good signing by Nigel
100% agreed on the quality of Steve Walsh and his scouting ability. I give SW more credit than NP actually re. new players. Your defence will let you down. Its far to slow and ponderous and prone to errors. The 2 Wolves goals were shockers for starters. That is why i am surprised that Moore wont play on sunday if he is that good and fit.
He dont know anything De Laet is rapid, Morgan is very quick for his size, Konch still has decent pace and Ledge isnt lightning but he isnt slow either. I would like the see their backline's pace when we have people like Nugent, Vardy, Knockaert and Dyer running at them
Showing your lack of knowledge there mate - you can say a lot of things about our defence but slow isn't one of them!
I'm assuming Tonsil Tickler is referring to "slow" to react as opposed to pace. End of the day, he's probably seen the Wolves game and thinks that sums us up. The back four in that match against consisted of Moore, playing in the first team for the first time this season, De Laet, a summer signing, Morgan, a Jan signing and Konch. Not exactly had tons of experience playing together. St Ledger returning has cured that, we were much tighter against Burnley. The defence will continue to improve - that's one think you can virtually guarantee under Nige!
They will be too busy doing defensive work with Ben Marshall and Anthony Knockaert pulling them inside out
