We have just had a bid turned down for him, what are you thoughts on him, is he for sale and would you like to keep him?
If it was up to me I'd let him go now we still have K9 who can fill in and Darcy who can play Centre Back or Full Back.
i'd say about £500k is a reasonable fee given that he's a good solid performer at this level but not top class, he showed this at hull. i dont know the ins and outs by any means but i suspect the club would listen to offers, not really that bothered if he goes, he'd be replaceable. if thats true then thats just taking the piss and wont be taken seriously.
Unless Malky has a youngster lined up as left back cover, we have only 3 recognised full backs and Darcy can't cover there and centre back if we get injuries/supensions. Keogh would have been goood as he can play both but he's gone elsewhere so we look like we need someone else if Gezza goes. PF - what did Leicester bid?
He should be worth at least £500k from what we saw of him at City, only had one bad game for us and he even managed to score that day. If we hadn't got 4 good center-backs I'd have him back. However, I suspect he'd only go to a team promising him first team football, as he must have had enough of bench-warming at Cardiff, which could give Brizzle the edge.
200K by the sounds of things. If Gerrard is the man Nigel wants and you will sell then i dont think agreeing a fee will be an issue. We was probably just trying our luck with the first offer
Couple of things I cant understand? 1 Why do Leicester want Gerrard. Id seriously question Pearson if i was a Leicester fan. Do Leicester still have Mills and Sol Bamba (not sure if thats the name). Gerrard is nowhere near that standard. 2 Why have we turned down £200k.? Gerrard would be a good signing for Bristol City. A poor one for Leicester. I would accept the Leicester offer and reject the wurzel one. Gerrard shouldnt be a regular for a team aiming for promotion. At his best hes a average stopper. I think K9 is a better option as our 4th centre back. I hope one of the clubs come back in though as hes surplus to requirements and needs to leave.
We have sold both Mills and Bamba. Nigel Pearson managed Gerrard at Hull so he knows what hes getting. We only have Wes Morgan, Zak Whitbread and Sean St. Ledger. St. Ledger has just picked up a knee injury and will miss the start of the season.
Thats what I think as well. Very suprised by this. Perhaps the Wurzels can have K9 as surely Gerrard will now go to Leicester. Personally I think K9 is better.
Next bid - SELL!! Dont care if its £200k plus 1p. Gerrard isnt good enough so any sort of money is a bonus. We should accept the next Leicester bid. Not a good signing for them and if Pearson wants Gerrard id question his judgement. On the other side Gerrard is the sort you want in a fight at the bottom and would be a good signing for the wurzels.
I'm very surprised to learn that Leicester have come in for him. I was never a big fan although he did have a decent run in the side and looked pretty solid. But he's not developed like Hudson has (God, how I used to slag him off) and for the most part resembled a sack of Maris Pipers. . . still in the ground.
your being harsh hilts, he's definetely worth £400-500k of anyones money..... and i'd be dissapointed if we sold for less than that...
Gerrard not involved again today, K9 on the bench... his days are definately numbered. If either team come back in for him then we should accept whatever the bid to get him off the books. I dont dislike Gerrard but it seems his best season as a Cardiff player was out on loan at Hull.
