Ristac. No big loss, very average from what I've seen. Interested to hear from those that see him more often if they think he is worth keeping.
If so we need two new strikers and one of them needs to be able to score at least 20+ goals a season at this level
I agree, not a player I would have kept, I do believe Wood will get better, can see him bagging 20 next season but we need another striker a bit more prolific, can we afford one?
I can do that, For them that know football, or have a good idea about football, Between Wood and Antenucci, for me Antenucci was the better striker and had the better footballing head, Antenucci was more composed when scoring his goals, he appeared to be calm under pressure and could pick his spot placing his goals where he wanted them. He also had the ability to pass and help create. Some will say he only scored 9 goals this season, firstly he didn't play as many full games as Wood, and his tally was 1 goal less than the previous season, which shows consistency. Ant and Duke were our best strike partnership in a 4-4-2 formation, but Evans, like some of his predecessors preferred the single striker formation with Wood; as we have all seen, and witnessed, single striker formation hasn't done us any good. Wood for me is a hit and hope striker who can't really head a ball, neither can Antenucci, so all's even on that front. To replace Antenucci we would need a striker, or 2 with the same skills and composure as Antenucci, and then more; problem is, if and when we get one, he's going to be 5 times better than Wood, which will probably relegate Wood to reserve striker or the under 21's. Antenucci's been good for us, he's scored some good goals, great goals, and the odd 1 or 2 fantastic goals for us, and despite some views, became a fans favourite, so if you must comment, try not to do it with your hatred for Cellino in mind, but for the striker who gave us good service. If it wasn't for the likes of Redders, Rosler and Evans preferring the single striker role, and some with strikers who couldn't score, I believe Antenucci could've, and would've scored between 15 and 20 goals, with Duke not far behind. Personally, I think we're losing a good striker. I genuinley wish him all the best back in Italy.
Antenucci was head and shoulders the best of cellinos imports. Now let's get rid of the rest of them and let a football man build a British team. The likelihood of Cellino letting that happen <1%
wood better than Ant IMO,needed to go as we need better,he was ok but just not quite good enough.Berardi by far the best foreign import Glory ain't got a clue.whistle.
Beradi never recovered from his bad start with us...... Too hot headed and can't tackle.... As bad a combination as you can get for a defender. Always follow the Money, Chesh is clueless.
Morning all. One gone. He will need to be replaced, & I still hope Evans is the Manager to lead us to at least top 6 next season. But I'm not feeling confident
This shows the same Ant message that Ristac posted, but it also shows the goal against Burnley, in my opinion the goal shows the difference between Ant and Wood. http://www.leeds.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=445999
Antenucci and probably Steve Evans already gone. Bellusci and Wootton in the next week and that's actually progress.
Noel Whelan on Antenucci exit: "He’d be one of those on my list to get shot of. He walked away from celebrating, an absolute disgrace"
