Weekend is here again and to be frank I cant get too exited about the England match, so will just mess about on here. As mentioned on here previously we expect to see a lot of changes in the U23s and indeed the U18s, but this weekend I will concentrate on the 23s with a player list and contract end dates; Elia Caprile 19yo 2023 Dani Van de Hueval 18yo 2023 Charlie Cresswell 18yo 2023 Cody Drameh 19yo 2024 Jack Jenkins 19yo 2023 Stuart McKinstry 18yo 2023 Amari Miller 18yo 2025 Crys Summerville 19yo 2023 Joe Gelhardt 19yo 2024 Sam Greenwood 19yo 2023 Max Dean 17yo 2023 Charlie Allen 17yo 2023 So we have a dozen quality players above on long contracts, but we also have another 14 players with varying contracts, and we will wait and see if any get an extension or will be released/sold in the coming days. There are a couple who have longer contracts left too, but have been out on loan and maybe going back out. Liam McCarron 20yo 2022 Niall Huggins 20yo 2023 * told to find a club? Bryce Hosannah 22yo 2022 * Loaned to BCFC but out injured again Nohan Kenneh 18yo 2022 Alfie McCalmont 21yo 2024 * Now loaned out to Morecambe Josh Galloway 18yo 2022 Rafa Mujica 22yo 2022 * Sold for undisclosed fee to Las Palmas Bobby Kamwa 21yo 2022 Robbie Gotts 21yo 2022 * Should be going out on loan to league 1 Ryan Edmondson 19yo 2023 * Out on loan to Fleetwood Town Leif Davies 21yo 2022 Jamie Shackelton 21yo 2024 Jordan Stevens 21yo 2022 * Wasted a year out on loan on the bench Matt Bogutsz 19yo 2023 * Wants to leave if he cannot play There will be more additions like Amari Miller, but it will be interesting to see how Bielsa deals with this. He sold Olly Casey simply because there was no chance of him breaking into the first team as we already have 4 CBs. Niall Huggins told to find a club too simply because Bielsa must feel the kid will not break into the first team at LB, LWB or LW. Shame as he is a talent. We also have the issue of Leif Davies too for those same positions? Nohan Kenneh in my view is a no brainer but we shall wait and see. Once we know the real U23 squad I will update the list and post a new U23 fixture list for a sticky again. Here is what we know so far regarding the first team squad: Rodrigo 2024 Koch 2024 Kiko 2023 * Bamford 2022 * new contract being done Costa 2024 * Will he be on the move? Llorente 2024 Meslier 2023 Forshaw 2022 * Will he be moved on? Klich 2024 Poveda 2024 * Cooper 2024 Ayling 2023 Dallas 2024 Phillips 2024 Struijk 2024 Roberts 2024 Raphinha 2024 Harrison 2024 18 first team players before we add in any new players, plus there are question marks against a couple, but at least we have tied down everyone we wanted to tie down. Bamford deal should be done in the coming days.
Good post, I think by the looks of things Costa could be on his way and I can’t see a future for Forshaw at Leeds and it’s not surprise we’re after those exact positions in a midfielder and a winger. Should be a decent squad and obviously add Firpo to the list once he has signed. 19 squad players and the rest will be filled in by the best 23s in by Shackleton or Davis, Gelhardt, Greenwood, Summerville, Cresswell, Jenkins & McKinstry.
According to Adam Pope Forshaw didn't turn up at Carnegie yesterday for testing, which can only mean hes not fit or looking fir another club? 2 years hes been missing
It’s been just too long. If he’s not fit he should call it a day and let the club cash in the insurance to pay off his contract.
Seemed to of waited a long time for this month but we are finally going to see what cards we are going to be play. Will there be any surprise moves in or out of the club. I still think we will be tested by Clubs in a few transfer offers then it's how the Club and Player deal with it. Fingers crossed everything goes like clockwork and we keep everyone on board we are wanting to keep and bring in the players we have as our number one targets. As on Forshaw 2 years is a long time to be out of Football and to be introduced straight into Premier League is a massive ask. A loan would be a option just for the player in general just to play football again but I don't know how that would benefit Our club when he's already missed 2 years as well as being 29. We just have to trust Bielsa on this one.
Just seen that mate and gone for an undisclosed fee. That was the agreement but earlier this week Las Palmas seemed to have pulled the plug and wanted a loan deal again. We told them no so it seems they changed their mind and bought the lad
We seem to have a good relationship with Blackpool, Fleetwood and Morecambe for some reason. We bought Leif Davies from Morecambe too I believe
Cheats win again. Derby will play in the Championship next season after the English Football League decided not to appeal against a decision to just fine the club for their accounting policies.
Great to see th Harrison deal rubber stamped. wonder how long they been waiting to release that photo At least The door is open let the fun and games begin.
