JOHAN Raslan and Nazir Razak have been appointed Directors of QPR Holdings Ltd, the holding company of Queens Park Rangers Football Club. The duo join Tony Fernandes, Amit Bhatia, Ruben Gnanalingam and Kamarudin Bin Meranun on the Board of Directors at Loftus Road. Raslan is a Malaysian chartered accountant of Malaysian-British ancestry. He was Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia from 2004 until he retired in 2012. He has been a member of the board of AMMB Holdings Berhad, a financial services group in Malaysia, since December 2014. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and an Eisenhower Fellow. Razak is the Chairman of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, a major Asean financial services group. He became Chairman in September 2014, after serving as the CEO from 1999. He is also a Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, a member of the Investment Panel of the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and an International Advisory Board member of the Blavatnik School of Government at University of Oxford. From the sounds of it they're probably multi millionaires but not mega rich. However, they are certainly heavyweight, successful businessmen with impressive c.v.'s who must have some excellent contacts. On that basis, they're very welcome!
Success as a businessman is a pretty elastic concept. So was Chris Wright and so was Tony Fernandes. Doesn't mean they know anything about football and how to create and then run a successful, attractive and profitable football club. Tone and it has to be acknowledged, Amit Bhatia have failed in all three respects.
Razak's brother has been prime minister of Malaysia since 2009. His dad was Prime Minister too. Bit of a dynasty. Relatively loaded c$150m, but looks like a nice political appointment for Tone's Malaysian businesses. "Come and play with QPR, it won't cost you anything and it's ****ed anyway so you can't do much harm". Raslan is merely very wealthy, not in the funding a football club league though. I don't think these appointments have got much to do with QPR.
Remember it well. Hated it then Never mind all that. Where are we now on the subject of Les Ferdinand? To recap, he was a waste of space and dragging us down with him. Then we beat Leeds and he promised he would make you lots of money by selling on the BFG once we'd polished him up a bit. At that time you wanted to have Sir Les' babies if I recall. We then started losing again and both he and JFH were booked on the next trip to the glue factory because he was only concerned about getting his mates in and doing them a favour.
