http://sport.stv.tv/football/scotti...867-neil-lennon-confirms-rabiu-ibrahim-trial/ Why? How many midfielders do we need? Neil's in danger of going down the same route as Strachan. I know people will say it's only a trial but what's the point?
It depends what Lennon's plans are ... Will Celtic be selling players i.e if the Ki rumour is to be believed, can they knock back massive profit?
Bhoys don't get carried away, we have already lost a key midfield player through injury probably for rest of the season. If the Peterhead's elbow had connected an inch or two lower the chance are that Ledley would also have been on the sidelines for a long time too. I cannot understand how any Celtic fan can moan about too many players for any position. Players are usually capable of performing well in a number of positions. We would have a hell of a lot more to cringe about if Celtic were shrinking their player pool
We have something like 15 midfielders. Why do we need to take on trial a player that has made two appearances in three years for Sporting and PSV and wasn't deemed good enough for either of them?
Satan I am not trying to be difficult, but surely we can never have too many good players. I agree the more I read about him, the more worried I became but as we rarely sign anyone that we have on trial, he will really have to impress if he is going to be signed. I think you were slightly over estimating the number of midfielders that N.L. has at his disposal. The problem could well be too many midfielders but it could never be too many top quality midfielders.
Now an Icelandic winger played in a 3-2 win bounce game today , I believe Keating 2 George were the scorers , the winger had also been on trial at Arsenal
Celtic are in the unfortunate position that they cannot spend big or even decent money to temp player to Celtic Park. Because of that Celtic are trying to shop in the bargain rails, the hope is that once in a while they see someone who apparently has something to offer Celtic and the hope then is that Celtic will be able to do a deal. Managers of EPL clubs look jealously at the amount and quality of good young players from all over the world that Neil Lennon has accumulated since the summer 2010. Their chairmen are wondering why some of the EPL teams have not bought the same quality. Now when the Scottish media splash out that Celtic is interested in such and such a player, we read the following day of various English clubs interests and so a bidding war starts and Celtic can no longer complete. It is getting harder and harder for Neil to compete but if he could only pull another good big striker out of some hat we would probably be happy. I was just thinking that the reason he is trialling Ibhranim is that I think he is not happy that he just cannot seem to have the player to play just behind the front player or front two players. He has I think tried Ki Paddy and Commons but none did what he lennon wanted.
Never mind the trialists is this boy Keatings near ready for a chance? He's been prolific at youth levels and seems to be doing it in the "development" squad too. Time for him to be on the bench and given 10/15 minutes here and there if winning to try him out??
Money isn't everything last night Arsenal had 75% possesion had no shots on target in the first hour ,their front 3 must have cost in the region of 40/50 million , I could say o'dea marked them out but that would be untrue , hidden gems are the way forward for our club not over priced prima dona 's , could Forrest not play in the hole behind the strikers , kind of played there in Udinese
Keatings is just back from injury, will take a few more months to build up to compete with the spl hammer throwers.
Harry I know Forrest could play there, as he keeps his head up when he is receiving the ball, but maybe we would miss him on The wing. I would not get over excited as neither of trialist are likely to be signed, unless they do exceptionally well. Believe it or not I think N. Lennon knows what areas of the team need strengthening and the areas that are better served. I think if he signs Ibhranin it is because he has really high hopes for him.
We need a striker that can score with his head and throw his weight about against teams that park the bus
The fact we have a couple of attacking midfielders/wingers on trial just shows how little the likes of McGinn, McCourt & Commons are thought of by Lenny
