Sounds good, liking the way we're operating in the market this window, refusing to pay over the odds for players and not paying big wages, whilst signing young players. Of course it does mean that we might occasionally miss out on our top targets, but that's something I can deal with. Is there a quote for this news story?
We are in negotiations with Derby for Steve Davies. He wants to come here as he wants to be closer to his family in London. The sticking point is the fee as Derby want £1 Million and we are only prepared to pay £600k! It will probably end up somewhere in the middle but I reckon he will be signed by this time next week!
Hopefully this one will come through, if he can stay fit he could be a very good player for us. I wouldn't pay anything over £750 k for him. Hopefully we can get another defender and maybe one more midfielder before the season starts.
I think Davis would be quality and seems like the squad is shaping up nicely, though I still think we need at least 1 more CB and probably a CM.
He would be another great addition, although I would say we need a player more like Davis than Baldock, although I've always said we need a player to compete with Chopra. I would just be concerned that one of them may not get much 1st team football which I would expect would mean one of them wouldn't be very happy.
It's definately not Keogh, the fool has joined Derby for £1m plus. Looks like they're going for it or can invest due to their gate revenue...
