I'm guessing you would rather see "Hessenthaler publically admits defeat and gives up for the rest of the season"?

I agree that it's extremely unlikely based on recent results/performances but he won't quit until it's no longer mathematically possible.

No but for two seasons now after every match we lose he comes out and says it's still possible to get there, before now it was just aggravating to just always read the headline 'Hessenthaler still believes in promotion' as it shouldn't need saying all the bleeding time! But now it just shows that rather than holding his hands up and saying that we may have blown it he still rattles out the same 'keep the faith' garbage all the time.

I'm not saying he should give up the season but rather than saying that it is still possible why doesn't he say why it's possible, give us a reason to still believe, but he won't do anything and that is the sad truth. Frampton and Fish will keep their places in the team because Hessenthaler likes them and we will finish about 10th.

How fickle can Gills supporters be? I bet you, like me, were doing cartwheels after the resent matches against Hereford, Plymouth, and Cheltenham. Yet the recent run of poor form that started against Wimbledon and Crewe shows the fragility of the defence that we have.
Quality defenders are hard to find so we have gone down the attacking route...at times this has paid off and everyone loves Hess. When we've had no forwards due to injury or illness we've been found wanting.

This season, consistency has been the overriding problem. Consistency of squad, results, form, everything. Who would have thought that we'd lose at home to Wimbledon or Crewe....well having lost at home to Barnet and Macclesfield last year I'm not totally surprised.
The season before, the Gills were sitting in the best position to avoid the drop on goal difference and points. 1 point away at an already relegated Wycombe....was supposed to be easy ha! Stuffed 3-0.

Jo Kuffour....does he really want to play at the moment? Keds? what has happened to him? Oli...we know about...Tomlin is injured Vine?????? so where has our firepower gone.

    Here's to next season anyway

It's more hessenthaler's lack of tactical awareness that is annoying than results. If we lost to Burton, Wimbledon and Crewe but we had played good football I wouldn't mind but its the fact we don't play football that is annoying. I didn't mind relegation under Stimson because we played football and if we had only been able to scramble a win away we would still be in League 1 and Stimson would still have his job.
