In what has become a bad few weeks for rock music, Dale Griffin, drummer with Mott the Hoople has passed away aged 67 from Alzheimer's... http://metro.co.uk/2016/01/18/mott-..._source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=Twitter#mv-a
Mott the Hoople, one of my all time favourites. I ve heard Dale was having that horrible disease and he couldnt play on their reunion gigs in 2009. Sad news to hear that your rockheroes from the past are leaving us for too soon and too often. RIP.
What the hell is happening??? They are falling like flies....Eagles another my massive favourites....RIP Glenn
So many musicians of my era passing away in a week, all around the same age - brings it home when you're only a few years behind. From the 1992 Freddie Mercury tribute concert, I rather like this rendition of All the Young Dudes with Ian Hunter, Bowie, Mick Ronson, Brian May - apparently Bowie gave Mott the Hoople this song when the group lacked success and it helped launch their musical career. Also Heroes with great guitar work from Mick Ronson shortly before he died.
The lifestyles those rock and roll musicians led, they had about a 1 in 10 chance of reaching their 70's. So many have fallen along the wayside Sad to hear about the Mott the Hoople drummer. I remember seeing them at Kingston Polytechnic RIP
Jagger and Richards make up part of the 1 in 10. Actually, I think Jagger's led a pretty healthy lifestyle. Keith Richards has no right to be alive - glad he is - must have good genes
Don't know if it's an Urban Myth, but did hear that Richards had had full blood transfusions in the past to flush out his system from all the **** he'd been smoking, snorting, injecting and drinking over the years - way to go, if you can afford it!
