http://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2016/may/19/egyptair-plane-cairo-paris-live-updates Flight MS804, en route from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Cairo, has disappeared from radar. The plane, an Airbus A320, left Paris at 11.09pm on Wednesday night (21.09 GMT/22.09 BST/07.09am Thursday AEST). The airline said contact was lost around 16km/10 miles inside Egyptian airspace at 2.45am local time (00.45 GMT/01.45 BST/10.45 AEST). The plane was carrying 56 passengers and 10 crew: two cockpit crew, five cabin crew and three security personnel. The airline said two babies and one child were on board. Search and rescue efforts are underway at the site where contact was lost, around 50-65km (30-40 miles) north of Egypt’s coast. The plane, on its fifth journey of the day, was travelling at 37,000 feet when it disappeared from radar.
Don't sound to good does it, lad next to me is off to Hurghada in a couple of weeks, well maybe not....
From 1980 through to 1998, the "Child-Bride" and I traveled every 2 years to the UK and always took in LA and Hawaii (most beautiful place on earth - if you haven't been there then take my word for it). Today, to be honest, I would be sh!t scared to get on a plane. What a terrible state we have let this world get into.
The two most agreeable airlines in the world are El Al as no Arab would be go near them and Air New Zealand because Kiwis never offend anybody.
We tried them all in our time. Garuda were the worst. Singapore the best. We found for economy and service that both Qantas and Air New Zealand gave the best value for money so we stuck with those.
Im not, but he is scouring the net for more news......poor ****er, first time out of England as well.
If he's thinking of changing his mind, that wouldn't be the worst move. I stopped my lads going to Egypt. And Tunisia. And Turkey. And Greece! And every country next door to any of those. They're heading west from now on, until things calm down in the eastern med!
Looks like it's crashed in the sea with no distress call. It points to something happening inside the aircraft, I'd be very surprised if this was an equipment malfunction on an A320.
There are reports of sailors seeing flames in the sky. It had just crossed into Egyption-controlled airspace. France and Egypt. That can't be coincidence.
When I saw the title, the first question that went through my head was 'It wasn't over the Wongadome on Sunday, was it?
^^^^^ 66 people presumably dead and this ****ing scab starts making jokes. Don't anybody say owt though, it's only Relic, the board's resident, laugh-a-minute pensioner, he means no harm.
I wouldn't get on any aircraft flying over airspace where terrorists are operating. Especially when they are armed with surface to air missiles these days, **** that.
Yet Abu Dhabi/Dubai seems to be about the safest place in the world to travel to atm. It's a very ****ed up world right now, for me, the far east is a massive no-go zone, I wouldn't take an all expenses paid 5* holiday there if it was given to me for free. Mexico/US for me every year for the rest of my life!
It`s easy to read sinister goings on into these things but the article says it was the planes 5th journey of the day. Sounds like a fair bit of wear and tear.
