    Liverpool have signed Herbie kane.

Don't know to much about him but that's 2 of our youngsters gone to the top 4 clubs. Its a good and bad thing. Its good to see our youngsters have talent and that our academy are producing but its bad that as soon as a big club shows interest they are off.

might not feel quite so peed, if money was finding its way down from the prem, to help fund the acadamies. talk about having your cake and eating it.

In my eyes a transfer fee is something mutually agreed between the 2 parties - compensation is a small bone thrown to the lower league club by the mega-rich Premier League team

In terms of a player like Maddox about £1M which is the sort of compensation they were having to pay before with EPPP until he plays about 100 games we don't get anything like that, Until he starts playing in their first team we get about £50,000 max. Had they waited until we were granted CAT 2 status it would have cost them twice as much thats why Chelsea and Liverpool are sniffing around our academy now.

City will receive £84,000 from Liverpool for Herbie Kane, was talking to him this morning, (lives local to me) he is a very level headed young man. His first outing for Liverpool will be against........Bristol City!

£84K oh great about 4 months wages for a half decent player at that rate in one million years the academy might just break even.

I asked a friend of mine who occasionally watched the U18's, and apparently this kid was already playing for them at 14, and was absolutely phenomenal. Frankly, I'd have loved to see him get a first-team contract and to get a few minutes on the pitch for the reserves, or even the first-team if his ability shows.
