Rumours are united youngster Ryan tunnicliffe could be joining on loan to get some action as opposed to a rare appearance for united.
Another addition before the start of the season would not surprise me, when Skuse went off in the 1st half last night it did leave us short of cover in midfield with Anderson & Edwards unavailable.!
I am hoping we sign another midfielder, a playmaker CM, I wouldn't mind us signing Wellens but I'd prefer us not to get a loan in. I know we actually don't have any anymore but we have decent cover in most positions, whereas last season and probably the season before we actually had holes in the squad which we needed to fill. I think we've got enough to see us through the season here so would prefer if we got anyone we add a bit of quality by actually signing someone. I'd only like to see us get loans in if a player gets injured.
Can't see him getting much playing time. We have our own youngsters to throw in if push comes to shove when injuries occur. Agree with ptc, let's only use the loan system in emergencies or to add real quality that we either can't afford or can't buy outright.
That's what loans should be for. Emergency. That IMO was part of the problem last couple of seasons. Too many mercenaries and not enough playing for the shirt. We have the makings of a good squad going on here, I'm still hoping for the tough tackling midfielder who'll hold things together.
I think we've used it the past couple of seasons because we've had massive holes in our squad, so have needed to use them. I don't think we really need a tough tackling midfielder as we have Hyam, Skuse and Tabb who all can put their foot in and perhaps are more industrious than most, think we're more lacking a bit of quality on the ball and creativity.
The word on the street and from some trusted Inside sources at Portman Road is that we will soon be splashing 1.8 Million on the signing of Billy Sharpe! Once Chopra has been dispatched to Blackpool this will free up some cash to get this deal done.
I said not long after the season ended I wouldn't mind seeing Jamie o' hara as that possible skill player. Assuming he's fit and affordable. And he is surplus to requirements at wolves.
Not saying your wrong Tache but i've heard talk of another striker and don't think we will bring in two...........................Imo we have enough as we are.
Sharpe would be decent IMO and if we can't find any gems I think if all fits it's the kind of area we need to spend a bit of money. Wellens, Sharpe plus a speedster LW and I'd be very happy (maybe with another GK) Who you hearing Weighty??
