Sorry for getting hopes up but Greetings I'm a new contributor to this board - I've had a long ,mostly challenging , SAFC supporting life with many dejavu memories of Expect The Unexpected (ETU) and ... not being disappoined - First game -not certain - my dad sneaked me in last 20 mins (Roker Park gates opened at half time) a few times during 63-64 promotion season - my memory "Charlie Charlie " chants - I was about 7) First game from start 64-65 - Leicester H - Deryck Foster (15yrs) in goal- Monty injured (ETU) - 3-3 - memory at start disappoined Monty not in goal - at end - elated what a 15yr old keeper - what a game - hook line and sinkered as a Sunderland fan - little did I know I was guarenteed an eventful and healthy life ? (good chance of strong nerves and heart & positive realism !) life as a SAFC football fan - its not boring. I feel really positive for this season - IMO Advocaat is one of the rare Manager's not to be messed with (aka Fergie, Shankley Busby Clough Mourinho Wenger) - we have some useful players and a manager who knows how to win ....... anyway I'll contribute more when I suss out how to add a good avator ... goodbye and as we all know .... with Sunderland its always KTF and ETU

I'll second what everyone's said in the welcome! I've had arguments and heated debates on here but always end up back here! Love this forum... Have tried others but never managed to stick them out. Welcome aboard
Welcome and hopefully you will end the season a happy wanderer. Agree with the comparison about Advocaat who does have the qualities you mention and is probably the last of the straight shooters. No psychobabble explanations from him.
Just what i was thinking. Anyhow welcome aboard mate. Mind there.s some strange ****ers on here. Only thing to remember. Dont take things to heart. You.ll read lots of disagreements. Just roll with it.
