I'm not sure if one has been posted in the last week (odds on it has) but the last i heard he should be making an appearance before the end of the season? Is he still on course? It would probably be a little more romantic if he didn't play until next season, as it would seem like a new signing, but I'm just excited to see if he's still got it :)

He was, but I heard that Pards said there's been a set-back. So now, who knows.

He has had a set back and there is no point in risking him even if he recovers in time for the WBA game.

He might might might be back for the WBA game, but there's no point risking it.

I'd prefer him to have a full pre-season to improve than 10 minutes in a gmae and another injury.

This is Pardew's fault imo. He always claims players are back too soon than he should to keep everyone happy, so he has to keep mentioning set-backs.

    I agree partly.

But Ben Arfa was originally back towards mid March, then early April, then late April, then early May and now out for the season?

Yeah, what he should do is come out and say such and such wont be ready for some time yet.
Making sure media and fan pressure to see the player will be minimum and he also has to keep the player on a level head with regards to their own fitness as players can also rush themselves back too early.

Thought this was his only set back? Before now he had just been too eager to return and set stupid return dates like January, and then when he was nearly ready he was given compassionate leave.

Anyone else noticed how 3 players recovering from long term injuries all got set backs? Gosling, Ireland and Ben Arfa should all have been playing by now, is our physio/coaches doing something wrong?

Cant believe with the little transfer activity evident in the last 12 months we still managed to sign 3 injured players!!! What is going on?? I personally couldn't understand why we splashed our cash on Ben Arfa when he had a broken leg! and prior to this had played a few games where he looked quite good. Will he come back strong? who knows... and we still dont know how good he actually is--thats hy he was on loan in the first place to give us the time to judge him. This decision seems to have been made purely onn the basis of a few games and a broken leg. Thoughts!!!???

He'll probably get the traditional 'bring him on for ten minutes at the last home game for a roar, and tell him to point at some **** for the cameras' thing. The roar should get him motivated to train well for next season, with luck.
