What a waste of time and space the national set-up has become at every level and watching the U-21 match today made me ask why do we bother? I could see the inevitable writing on the wall very early in the game when we had 80% of the possession and could not score even if their goalkeeper went off for a coffee break. Then I heard a regular comment on England's game that against the run of play Norway had scored (twice actually) followed by that other well known comment that England were now in deep trouble (go figure).

Zaha reminded me of a young version of Wayne Rooney due to his total lack of effort and skill and I can't even begin to imagine what made Sir Alex think he was worth all that money. Harsh comments I know but despite all the excuses that we will hear such as they have had a long season and the best players had turned down the opportunity to play the fact still remains that they showed little commitment and even less skill.

Sad lot that have yet again let down their country but I suppose the hard reality is that they don't give a toss.

One slight error it wasn't that the best players didn't want to play Roy Hodgeson said they couldn't play as he might decide to use one or two in the England first team. The fact that England are not playing whilst this tournement is on doesn't seem to have occured to him.

I tend to agree wize and going by the total lack of press on this site I would gather that the rest of our posters feel the same way - well done to you all!!!!!! If you're looking for excitement come and watch my grass grow.

Until "Team England" take these tournaments seriously why should I??

With the exception of Wilshere who needs an operation, players like Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Welbeck, Cleverly, Walker etc should be getting tournament experience (this is what Spain do)

These were the very players Hodgeson said he wanted to be kept out of the squad to be available for the England first team I'm still trying to work out where they are playing with England because apart from 2 friendly games which came before this competition kicked off I don't see any England games in the offing?

England still stuck in the dark ages oh yeah you can use them for qualifiers but no they aren't going to go to the tournament as we don't want them to have experience of playing well and getting to the final that would be like us loaning players out and going no they might show us up so you can't play them

A young Wayne Rooney was tearing it up at Euro 2004 and one of the best at the tournament. This lot? Rooney has faults but one thing he has is ability. Players coming through now Wilshire aside look very average. Maybe bombing at all levels for a period might see the game being turned on its head leading to mass change e.g France and spain.

Yesterday there was England v Australia cricket or England v Norway football.
    To me a no-brainer!
