Looks like it's a major balls up again with a council-run sports building.

Wrong colour (blue). Not enough bogs. Seats facing pitch (joking)

Rovers have taken their egg shaped ball home as it's gone to ****.

Doesn't anyone at the council know what they are doing when they are drawing up the specs and then approving the final design?

How come it gets to this late stage before all the **** ups come out?

Once again a grown up MP (Karl Turner) has had to come in and babysit for Gerraghty and Brady, following Alan Johnson and Whitelygate last week.

Blame the voters who put this lot into power. You get what you vote for.

Reckon Alan Johnson and Karl Turner have been told by high power "Better babysit these ****s. They're embarrassing incompetents who are getting us a bad name."

What with that and us now pulling the subsidy to FC, RL is in a perilous state.

One of the posters on the HDM site had a good comment on it.

“As a supporter of sport in the City in general I find it amazing that when I read these pages (I don't very often, I have a far greater intellect) that all i see is rival fans abusing each other. Banter or not, some of it is down right stupid.

Lets start with Hull KR. 500k losses per year that are underwritten by Neil Hudgell and Rob Crossland. A10k target break even crowd that at the moment is around 7300, so 2700 short. Pass sales down 20 percent. A stand that has been years promised, only just come to fruition and now looks unlikely to be finished on time, if at all. A poor team on the pitch, what seems a poor coach who can't coach his team to defend. Neil Hudgell wants out and who can blame him, he and Rob Crossland have stumped up their cash and will never recieve it back...........but because they're fans, they'll continue to do so until the situation changes, if ever.

Now Hull FC: gone from a profit making club (albeit using players as assets) which we all know there's very little value in RL to losing over 500k a season. A 750k tax bill that AP said he knew nothing about (unbelievable) being funded to the tune of 310k a year by the SMC. A 14500 break even crowd that currently going on last game is 10712, that's 3800 short and included in this crowd are 1900 seats paid for by the SMC so less any away fans that's under 9000 paying Hull FC supporters . Dr Allam has said no more payouts, so if FC are to pay the said 310k that means their break even figure will rise to around at a guess 16500, that'd be 7500 short.......of break even. Then they'll have to stump up around 400k for a new pitch if they want to play on it. So, next season, AP has already said FC will post over 500k losses again plus 310k, plus 400k for a pitch.......that's over 1.2m in losses. This for a businessman, not a fan!!

Now on to the farce that is RL. Here we have 14 teams who only use their grounds for 13 days a year. No, let's be precise here. Lets say kickoff is 3pm, most fans start arriving from 2pm and most are gone by 5pm so in reality 3hours, 13 days a year. That's 39 hours of business.........A YEAR!! Or one and a half days, or 1.5/365. How many businesses can survive only trading one and a half days a year? Is there any wonder the sport from top to bottom is in a mess?

We have a Super League that has NO MAJOR SPONSOR, no real income for any team, major payouts in rent, policing etc but yet all teams spend beyond their means and then wonder why it's a mess.

But hey, tell ya what, lets all just have a pop at each others failings on here and try and get one over our rivals coz that's more important than the success of either club.

The clubs could work together to reduce costs I.e, buying 2 lots of medical equipment in bulk to keep costs down. Play double header academy games to keep costs down. But no, because pure and simply, the clubs can't work together and the fans certainly can't work together.

All that will happen is neither club will be a success, both clubs will sink further into debt with no Capitol income from anywhere and even if, a big if, one or both of the clubs went on to win silverware in the very distant future, the said owners will still NEVER see their investments return.

Rugby League as a sport is financially crippled, Wakefields main sponsor went into admin yesterday. All Castlefords commercial team have resigned. The game is a complete mess from top to bottom.

ALL clubs are on the brink of collapse or admin.............but hey, don't worry coz we'll just blinker ourselves to what's going on at our club and have a pop at them across the river. It's much easier and takes the pain away.

Well I guess guys and gals, you look at the bigger picture for both clubs, coz if not, very soon, in he near future either one or both clubs may have gone to the wall...........and then there'll be nobody to have a pop at at all.

    RIP Rugby League in Hull”

Decent post, if we only had one rugby league club, it would probably be the biggest in the country.

I realise the fans wouldn't entertain this, but they really ought to, it's fairly obvious we can't support two teams.

What should happen is that Hull and Rovers should merge to form the Hull Tubbylards and they should play in Gateshead.

    Everyones a winner!

I should have been a politician, me!

I'm not sure Gerraghty ****ing up really warrants it's own thread.

Gerraghty not ****ing up would definitely warrant one.

no its not, we have City and 2 RL teams, where the **** do you get a Dundee comparison from?

Geraghty and Brady and Hale can't even project manage a new stand at Rovers so how are they ever going to develop our ground, sell to Allam FFS.

AP has said he's staying at FC until they win a trophy, he's taken a bigger gamble there than he thought, I reckon that trophy will cost him more than he'll get back when he flogs the club, no profit in football but plenty of prestige, there's just nowt in rugby league anymore.

Little known fact....Hull nearly had two football clubs. In the early fifties Harold Needler wanted to form a league club in the east of the city to rival City in the west. Thought better of it and invested his brass in City instead...So my grandad told me, like.

**** me, are you that dense? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Ok let me try to explain for you.

    Dundee has 2 football clubs.

Neither do particularly well in the micky mouse leagues that are Scottish football.

    Hull has 2 RL clubs.

Neither do particularly well in the mickey mouse competition/league whateverthefookitis for RL teams.

Dundee would be able to afford to field a much stronger team, and enjoy more success with just ONE football team.

Hull would be able to fi....wait a sec, lets see if you're actually getting this.

    See the point now?

One of the most telling parts is:

Council get European funding for stand > council employ their own company to build the stand, despite having no experience in stadium construction.

Anyone noticed all the buildings 'set for demolition' in Hull - All seem to be being demolished by.... NPS. They spend half their time lining their own pockets and anything of interest to themselves personally. Probably why Geraghty was all too keen to get involved when it was a matter to do with Hull FC, but didn't get a crap when it was a meeting to save a library the other week.

It was only the other month when the council messed up at the central library - they set out plans to add a mezzanine floor. It was put in.... but at the wrong height, so anyone on the mezzanine floor over a certain height had to duck down!

"I know. I already own a football club in the west of the city pulling massive gates under Raich Carter. I'll start another smaller one in the east that will somehow rival it and generate income"

Can anyone tell me what happened to that supposed investor into HKR?

Seem to recall a few months back he was stating in the local media that he intended to invest millions into the club.

Naturally, I'm supposing this was total bullshit, but I fell at asleep at the switch so to speak and I'm none the Ernie wiser as to what exactly happened?

    Can anyone enlighten?

It turned out that he was living in a cardboard box under Anlaby Rerd flyover and was on jobseekers, which was suspended when he missed an interview, hence the withdrawal of the investment.
