And we have recorded 4 wins, a draw and a loss (just like September) scoring 12 and conceding Just 4, Kept 3 clean sheets and only failed to score the once. Makes for nice reading We're sitting on top of the league by 5 points, 9 points ahead of 4th and 12 points clear of the team just outside the play offs in 8th. But let's have a look at the month to come, as what has happened has happened and is over and done with. Forgetting for a moment the cup game with Scunthorpe, we have 5 league matches, home against Cheltenham, Morecambe and Exeter and trips to Plymouth and Accrington Stanley. All 5 fixtures would appear winnable, as is the cup game, so I'm hoping for another good month and then we can take that in to a very tough looking December. Here's to another good month. Well done MA, the management team, the players, the fans, the tea lady, Malcolm the kit man, Monty (mad dogs dog), the post lady who gave a team talk and everybody else who has anything to with the club we all love. Keep up the good work. UTG
Another excellent month behind us. During the season we have to accept that so many defeats will happen during the course of it and the timing of those defeats can be crucial for confidence and the ability to bounce straight back. Our travels to Torquay were always going to be difficult and for want of sounding crazy that was one defeat that was critical in such timing. The opportunity next laid at AFC Wimbledon and was taken after a hard fought out encounter. Next up is the FA Cup first round giving us a break from the league, whilst at the same time taking breathing space to think about our priorities, did I just say that as a traditionalist! Of course not 1-0 to the Gills (cough). We are then back in crucial league action at home, although the Cheltenham fixture may now be a much more difficult challenge than I would have at first pre-empted.
