Is this the first season in the Prem where we have finished with a positive goal differenc?

Now that would be an achievement in itself

Yes, it's the first time we have achieved a positive goal difference. We also scored more goals than any of the previous seasons (48) and the lowest goals conceded (45) which is the same as two seasons ago.

Two excellent seasons Ricc...that's for sure and I take my hat off to Mr Hughes.

He has done a wonderful job for our club...just don't like the chap.

Then again, that's my problem eh?

I dont like many managers Nicky to be honest, my favourite is probably Jose and my least favourite is Pearson. I dont mind Hughes tbh but is that just because hes our manager I dont know but like you said he has done brilliantly. He was nowhere near our first choice as manager 2 seasons ago but now I wouldnt change him for anyone

Believe it or not, neither would I <ale>

Having earned his rep back I just hope that he doesn't do a 'Fulham' on us.
And that in a nutshell is the reason for my dislike :)

In reality you often find managers who operate with teams who have reduced expectation (Stoke, Southampton & Swansea are perfect examples) and hence lowere pressure tend to over perform. It's when they move on to bigger expectations that they often struggle or fail.

Hughes at Blackburn, Fulham and Stoke and to a certain degree his initial stage at Man City has been brilliant, it was only when Man City demanded the title and QPR thought they would be top 8 and the associated transfer kitty's that things often fall apart.

Brenda Rodgers and Moyes are good examples to, phenomenal at their previous clubs before walking into the expectations of "big" clubs.

to be fair to Rodgers he did nearly win the title and then lost both sturridge and suarez all season, add to that Sterling being a money grabbing twat and you get a nightmare season. I still think hes a brilliant manager

Most Swans fans think he is more like David Brent than brilliant. Yes he did a great job getting us promoted, but he inherited a fairly stable team and added Scott Sinclair who was a cut above Championship standard. But honestly he believes his own publicity......

It was Suarez who almost won the title for Liverpool - not Brenda!

theres always one stand out player in every title challenging team, Hazard for Chelsea, Silva for Man city etc, Rodgers had Swansea playing some of the best football in the prem, yes he inherited a good squad but its how he got those players playing that was so impressive. Personally I dont think Swansea play as well under Monk but its the points that matter at the end of the day. If Sturridge stays fit and he finds a good solid striker then Liverpool wil be back in the top 4, before rodgers went to liverpool they didnt finish in the top 5 for years.
