Now i watched this game and even posted a thread on it saying it was more one sided than the C/L Final. So im not suprised at this story, these stories are more and more, so how is it happening/

FIFA has confirmed it is investigating the friendly international played on Wednesday night between Nigeria and Argentina.

The governing body says unusual betting patterns were identified relating to the match in Abuja that finished in a 4-1 win for Nigeria.

A statement read: “FIFA can confirm that this match between Nigeria and Argentina was one that we had an active interest in, and forms part of a wider ongoing FIFA investigation."

Argentina fielded a weakened team as coach Sergio Batista took the opportunity to examine some fringe players and youngsters ahead of the Copa America.

Nigeria took a 4-0 lead and it is reported there was then a surge of in-play bets on a fifth goal being scored.

Referee Ibrahim Chaibou awarded five minutes of added time but allowed the game to enter an eighth extra minute before awarding Argentina a controversial penalty.

He penalised Nigeria for a handball but replays showed the ball struck one defender on the leg before then hitting a team-mate in the stomach.
