Even the gossip is quiet and Fletcher is no more, Collins and Warnock must be the best kept secret this transfer window, it seems that even MON has not been told about it. Still, hope may be round the corner, MON said he would be jumping into action on his return from Korea and that return is imminent, not sure when they are back. Maybe this could be the week when we see wee Davie at the AoL, when Seaham Hall sees that blacked out limo and we all sit with fingers crossed that we don't hear wee Davies lips say those fearsome words, Heskey is in talks. I understand and admire my fellow fans who are able to put on a brave face to try and convince me that Collins and the like are signings to be pleased about but, me, I want exciting. Maybe MON will do that this week, then again......................................................
Syd, Problem is who do you identify as exciting, if Fletcher does come then all well and good, but not THE stand out signing we all crave, the thing is I don't think MoN does big signings and concentrates more on team ethic and hard work, perhaps we will have to get our heads around that but I could be wrong. time will tell.
Next week Syd. Once he's been back home for a few days. Count my words, he'll have a BIG one all but penned.
The manager and the rest of his squad were flying home from South Korean today, but O’Neill is hopeful that he will soon be able to announce a breakthrough in the transfer. “There may be something I can tell you very soon, but I really don’t want to say anything until players are actually signed,” he added.
I'm hearing Seydou Doumbia from a lot of places. I can't see it, but it' reached the point now where I wonder, 5-6 totally unlinked people, the clubs ties to Africa...
MoN say's 'leave me alone, i'm jet lagged and got an ify stomach. let me get myself sorted, and soon you will have something to shout about'.
Aye, he's not **** Syd.... Would have to be a club record, and a wage structure breaker. It's springing up in a few places now mind, although none are the most reputable, there is one with links back to ALS, but for all they aren't usually gossipers, they couldn't possibly know either.
You have to hope that all the focus is on getting two strikers/forwards who can put the ball in the net. You wont have Bendtner (blessing or curse.... but at least he could score now and then) and a good strike partnership is the difference between you lot looking like a 13th-17th place side and a 6th-10th placed side in my eyes. Your keeper and defence are good and midfield is a nice blend but up front you look dire (Whickham, Ji and Campbell - who i rate when he's fit, which is about 10 games a season). Massive few weeks for you guys and if you only buy one striker there'll be a big "all our eggs in one basket" feel to proceedings. Plenty of time yet though.
