President Chris Webb is suggesting a committee is formed to plan Forza Verde flag and singing........good grief what next.......milk janitors.
It's a man thing with the flag. Size matters even if the waving of it doesn't. The man is getting more and more pathetic as time goes on. If you have been reading all the guff, and it needs stamina to do it, about the multiple user accounts on PASOTI, you have to wonder given the circles moved in and who is in those circles how much they all knew about the sorry saga. The sooner both he and Newell are removed from any sanctum to do with the club the better. Plenty of respect during the so called war for both and a lot of others but the fight is over and it should not be decending to civil war now. Back out a hero to be remembered with fondness before they are all sullied and the good bits forgotten. I haven't caught up on the story since yesterday so far but no doubt the thing is still rumbling on.
President.... suppose there is no harm but he really is a bit of a Prince Phillip(should not be allowed to communicate with others) Not so sure about this 20% share of the club for the fans trust tho.
This isn't particularly addressed to you Mexijan - maybe Sensible who seems to be the resident Pasoti watcher. Why would anyone NOT want to see 20% of the club with the Trust? Given the right terms & conditions, it gives the fans a voice at the board table [but not control] and the right to information. The Trust is as far as I know open to all and we can hardly complain if the activists play a dominant role if the rest of us can't be bothered. It seems unlikely that the fans could raise enough to take 100% and I can't imagine Brent will want to part with any percentage between 20 and 100.
In theory notDistant it sound a good thing..........BUT if you read in between the lines on pasoti/ATD there seems to be some under mining of the Trusts leaders........and where does it fit in with the GAS Board being set up........too many individuals flexing there muscles at present.......with ATD getting quite hysterical over Ian Newell's stirring with supposed multi username postings...........sensible is more into that , he might comment later today when he gets up after Mrs sensible has given him breakfast in bed of course.
I read PASOTI from time to time and join in on Argyle Talk Democratic notdistant but I would not call myself a serial PASOTI watcher. Without going into reams of print about this. The feeling on ATD (who hate PASOTI and especially The Pres and his sidekick Newell) is that both of those are more interested in backing the GASB rather than a supporters involvement. Neither will have any influence over The Trust being the main reason put forward. ATD of course back The Trust hence their criticism of Webb and Newell over PASOTI posting issues. It seems that there was some backstabbing going on and attempts to undermine the Chairman of the Trust. He took umbrage to this and Newell supplied him with a bogus id and password so he could have a pop back at the backstabbers. This has lead to an unholly row about Moderators having multiple accounts themselves when it is against the rules of the site, lending the access to one to an outsider which has led to the resignation of the Chairman having been caught. ATD feel that Newell and possibly Webb used the situation themselves to assist in making The Trust look bad in the hope that the GASB would come to the fore instead. ATD and myself included in this think the 20% offer is not a bad thing but wish to see the details of it before committing to a fore or against which I think is fair enough. Did any of that make sense? If not then read Deep Throat threads (there is more than one and they are very long) on PASOTI and ATD (they are very long) for the full uncut version.
I have not read any of it. No interest in it. But webb and his pal seem a pair of ****ers at the highest level. Who are these pair? How can 2 pricks control the Pasti and ADT.
They don't control ATD joe but they would like to see it closed down mainly because it is full of awkward cusses who ask a lot of awkward questions and question everything.
Thanks for the summary Sensible. I still don't understand what the problem is but I don't think that's your fault! You'd assume that whoever holds the 20% would have the right to appoint one or more directors to the GASB. The Trust would seem to be the best vehicle for that: it's open to all and can elect its representatives to the GASB by member vote. If fans don't get involved, then they can't complain afterwards. As a Trust, it's presumably ideally set up to take donations or subscriptions from fans and to buy & hold the 20% on their behalf. I can't see why anyone would think differently, unless they have a personal agenda. I wouldn't like to see any placemen put onto the GASB other than by open election. Yes Mr Webb, I mean you.
There is no problem as such notdistant it is just the fight between the two websites that seems to overwhelm everything else. As the committee of the Trust is elected and therefore independant of the club, the feeling on ATD is that Webb and Newell would not want that and would prefer the GASB over which they might whield some control. Webb and Newell are seen as power crazy on ATD and a bad influence. Some of the posting on ATD is quite good in the sense that they pose much stiffer questions to the Club than anyone would get away with on PASOTI without being bannned. They are very very critical of Newell and seem to hate him with a passion. Good reason perhaps as there was an original ATD website which was hijacked and forced to shut down when he allegedly became involved. From the ashes a new ATD rose but one where anything Newell is fair game in the slating sense. Some really hate the man on there and seeing some of the exchanges which Newell has had it is perhaps not surprising. Read him on PASOTI. Anyone who fails to sing the party line, and by that I mean his line or Webb's line, gets roasted to bits by him and his co-horts. They are dismissed as being idiots and not proper fans. To question anything to do with Brent or the club is taboo. Newell gets quite nasty at times. He also allegedly does stuff off site to people on a personal level. He has access to email addresses and real names etc in his capacity as a MOD and I think partial site owner and is accused of using the information to campaign against decenters he feels merits the treatment. That's in an unleash the dogs of war way that was used during the war to save the club and get rid of the likes of Heaney. But, it's a very long story and one which I've only brushed rather than gone into in much depth. You would need to have too much time on your hands to get the whole story and to be honest I can't be that arsed.
My concern is that 20% fan control could put off future investors as it could be seen to complicate board decisions and plans, just feel it has to be 100% or nothing. On top of that the infighting and back stabbing amongst the main players in this does not fill me with confidence, it seems to be an old boys club and whilst I fully appreciate the fund raising and work they did when the club was in trouble I do not think this qualifies them as the best people to move the club forward. Just because you shout louder than everyone else does not mean you are right and my personal impression at the moment is that their are a few who want to keep the limelight and are resorting to bully boy tactics to do so. I fully admit to not being 100% up to speed on all the Pasoti ATD BS but in my defence it is extremly boring to wade through all the he said she said crap and despite my love of Argyle quite frankly life is too short!!! Still at least we should be OK for milk. If there is going to be fan representation I would like to see maybe a couple of ex players involved on the commitee or whatever they are going to set up.
