Looks absolutely fantastic that. That looks like a Premier League arena and area no question.

Lansdown obviously has no faith in the city council!! <laugh> Fair shout to him for basically saying "billhooks" to the lot of them!!

Shame that the Atyeo still sticks out like a sore thumb. It looks so out of place.
A source close to the club has told me that Lansdown no longer wants to buy the remaining houses behind it that he/club doesn't already own. He was offered one last year and declined it.
So not sure what the plans are long term for the old Park/Open End.
Agree with JGF2 that on some mock ups it looks a little cluttered with the new arena on the side behind the new stand, but it might all gel once its built.
Unless the council intervene of course..........

the news items last night put forward the "benefit of a 4000 seat arena" v the COLSTON HALL... and would be sooner than the one proposed by... well being argued about …. hopefully the main pressure wont come from COCO, to obstruct it… he could easily come up with an idea that the space for the city complex is needed for a hot air balloon refuelling station ( they would hold all their meetings there and use the by product)

I know my post is going to sound extremely selfish ............... but it's being built where I currently park (Midas Building):emoticon-0101-sadsm

I bet they won't be offering me a decent alternative - which is important as I have to drive 60-odd miles each way

Is it going to be a multi purpose arena then ? I believe the original plans for the one at Temple Meads (before Coco got his way) was for it to hold around 12,000. Places like the Genting Arena in Birmingham which attracts some of the biggest acts holds 17,000 odd, when the floor space is also used for standing, the National Indoor Arena, also in Birmingham, holds nearly 16,000 but is a nightmare to get in and out of when parking there, and the O2 in London that I've been lucky enough to go to a few times holds 20,000. The best we have at present is the O2 Academy which holds 2,000 and unless you either get a front row or balcony spot, the views can be disappointing and the good old Fleece. After that and aside from the Hippodrome which isn't really a music venue, we only have very small places. Went to the Tunnels in Temple Meads last week. Interesting and quirky venue, but the beer was off (and other reviews on Trip Advisor say the same) and getting drinks meant a queue for 20-30 mins and according to some frequent visitors can take an hour !!

I pre booked parking the other day for Artic Monkeys in NIA and was home by 12:30 after a coffee break as well. I’ve never got out of the carpark previously before 12.
We desperately need an suitable areana around here as the motorpoint in Cardiff only has a low capacity. So we are always stuck between Birmingham or the O2 in London which is a nightmare to get home from.

I have a laugh at the sags along with most city fans, and I know they tried to nick our ground when we were in the sh@t , and for that one act alone I should dislike them for eternity , but I’m better than that , and I have to say I do feel sorry for them , whilst some are tiresome most are just unlucky enough to be born the wrong side of town, or taken to their first football match by a deluded parent/guardian .

Most of the time, as I now live away from Bristol and don’t mix with any, I really don’t give them a second thought, I realise this may have softened my view towards them as it can get really annoying listening to their deluded opinions day in day out , but at moments like this I wonder how I would feel if the boot was on the other foot.

I would also like a proper local derby again , for those of you too young to have experienced one they are something else and I do miss them.
