I think that the longer this drags out the more it plays into our hands. Man City don't want him and they don't want him to go to another premiership club.

The longer Craig waits, the more desperate Man City will become. There's only one place he'll take a pay cut for and that is us.

    I'm optimistic as well Glam.

Earnie and Bellamy up top. A scarey thought..... for the oposition that is.

Glamorgan, never apologise for putting a CB thread on here because until he is on another teams pitch holding that clubs shirt, i have great faith on him coming home again

IF he does come back. The chess game might not go our way in time for the start of the season. The could go right up to the end of the transfer window.

Best try and put it out of our minds for now (if possible). We need to build a squad that works with or without Bellars now. Of course that goes without saying.

I think that this is still up in the air, but as you say it might happen, I think that MM is building a decent squad that will do ok...............Bellers will be the jewel in the crown, if we can pull it off, but I honestly think we are planning for a Bellamy free season....................anything else will be a great bonus, I hope you are right, but lets prepare for life without Craig, and as Bluebirds, live in hope as usual <ok>

Reading that article I was just as pleased with what MM said about Goodwillie and Gunnarson. They look more likely that Bellers in the short term. All 3 would be wonderful. The back line is sorted. Bellers and Goodwillie would just about complete the front line, maybe a tall centre forward that can holdthe ball up and distribute it, and a good hard midfield General.
The team suddenly looks a lot sweeter from here.
The only worry is that someone on here commented that we had cooled it on Goodwillie. I don't know if he heard that before or after this interview.

Xsnaggle, I read somewhere the Goodwille deal was on hold (no links) due to his off-field activities. For one i'm not too bothered if we don't get Goodwille as £2 million is a bit steep (IMO) given his personal history and the possibility he'll be detained at her majesty's pleasure.
As for Bellers, I'm more optimistic he will be a bluebird next season but won't have my heart set on it, too many false dawns being a bluebirds fan has jaded me a little :(

Interesting CB article in the Telegraph

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...is-colourful-life-in-and-out-of-football.html

    extract re: CCFC

After last year with Cardiff, he expects to go back to Manchester City, where he enters his final year of his contract. The club has made it clear to him that there won’t be another loan.

"And to be honest I do not want to go on loan again either, because where would I go after that? After another loan period my options would be probably reduced. A permanent move would be the best, but it would have to be somewhere wealthy, so I can guarantee future earnings for my charity. But that would be difficult with my current wages."

Another possibility is that Manchester City will buy off his contract. "If they pay me my final year of my wages, then I’m sure I can go wherever I want. In that case, my first option would be Cardiff, to give it another go. But is has to be feasible, the financial health of the club is the most important thing. I know the owners want to take the club forward, but they have to declare what is possible. But in the first place, it obviously all depends on Manchester City.

"At present, I expect to go back there, and stay the whole year. And if Mancini is still there, I’ll do probably very little, obviously I won’t be involved with him and the first team."

Just a repeat on your comment H bomb. <ok>

He relies on his wages to pay for his academy in Sierra Leone, very selfless but we wouldn't afford his 90K or so wages.

Unless MM persuades the board that he would be a key man in this re-building process and knowing the impact he had on this club from last season, I’m being a pessimist and saying it isn't looking great.

I think it's more a case of being a realist rather than a pessimist mate.
But....this is Cardiff City. How many times have we gone from "ah well" to "Get in there" in a short space of time?

With CB's love for all things Feyenoord, maybe we'll she shome beautiful footballsh at the she she esh in a few sheasonsh (eat your heart out McClaren) :)

 I hope we don't see that on the Football league show. saying that, with that dodgy accent he would refer to his team as "Florist" <doh>

As for CB, yeah your right, this is Cardiff city and If he were to return, him and earny would be enough for me. <ok>

I think that Craig has put his marker down with Man City.... let's see who blinks first.

The more I read, the more I feel that for Craig it's Cardiff or he'll sit on his Man City contract and let them pay him.

Agreed Rhondda. It's been said before, Craig doesn't have to go anywhere he doesn't want to. He has a contract with Man City, and if he's a mind to do it, can sit out next season picking up his approx £80K a week.

Whether he's the sort of bloke that will do that is another matter - I don't think he is.

Something will be sorted and he'll be wearing a Bluebird shirt on the pitch this season, rather than off it just watching us. <ok>

I am reading two things coming from Bellamy in H-Bombs article.
One is he is clearly telling Man City what he is going to do in regards to them.
The other thing is a clear message to the Cardiff board, or rather the Malaysians, inasmuch they need to come up with a decent package for him if he gets a green light form Mancini.
If he gets what he wants from Man City then the first year is taken care of if we pay him a wage in the region of 25/30k.
It seems it's after that period is over he raises concerns, and thats where the Malaysians may have to make some promises.
All pie in the sky if Man City don't play ball of course.

I said a while back that CB needed to make a public statement ruling out options of Man City to make his move back here possible. i.e. No move to Celtic, no loan elsewhere etc. Well Craig has sort of done that, but he has definitely opened the door to Feyenoord should they want him or be able to afford him. CB makes the point that unless Man City make a settlement of the contract it would have to be a rich club that comes in for him. CB has helped the cause of coming back to Cardiff, but he's also very much opened the door to other options.

Another thing that's been on my mind for a while is something that could be a game changer in the days of spending caps, 25 man squads and wasteful spending in the game is this - Bellamy may well be in a strong position to sue Manchester City given their stance and CB's ostricisation. How this could be beneficial in the short term is questionable. But the below article in today's Sun prompted me to put this in the mixer:

    Adebayor to sue Man City?
    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3683919/Manu-fury-as-City-freeze-him-out.html

Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but this will most likely be a summer long saga. Unless we have new revelations (like today's Telegraph interview), I think we should (try) to put the CB sitch out of our minds... If possible!!
