Interesting, if it turns out to be true and is an announcement regarding Hurst's sacking. I'm presuming Evans has got somebody else lined up? Wonder who though. Burley, Warburton, or McGreal? Wouldn't mind Steve Bruce, but honestly cannot see why he would want to come here to a club where he won't be getting much of a transfer budget.
Would be surprised if there was anything in this to be honest. Might even be the dreaded 'seal of approval' from the owner, but that would mean the owner speaking up.. Which he hasn't done a whole lot of in his time here.
I think you're right recovery it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Hurst gets the full backing of the owner, to do otherwise would be an admission that Evans got it wrong and we can't have that can we.
I don't think it's the case that Evans got it wrong - nearly all of us backed the appointment before the season kicked off - if he does back Hurst I think the motivation would be entirely financial. It would be weird to have an announcement about a new manager when Hurst hasn't been sacked, and it would be weird to allow Hurst to take training for a day or two when the decision has already been made. So I don't think the announcement will be about replacing the manager. Possibly a vote of confidence, possibly a new Director of Football, possibly the signing of a free agent, a new ticketing initiative. Or no announcement at all. Will be interesting to see if anything happens.
My guess is another day of silence from our owner and some awkward shuffling responses to some tepid questioning at the Press Conference. Nothing revelatory will happen and we'll all be jumping to conclusions of what should / could / might happen next week, based on 90 minutes of football at Millwall
I think you will be very surprised between now and Saturday..... not 100% sure WHAT is happening ( one of two things ) but one definitely is. More will come out......
Paul Lambert strongly linked to replace him. Heckingbottom also linked. Not a fan of either of them to be fair. Good source, Westy.

Well I never... (Also, that wasn't a 'rolling eyes' smiley.. It was a 'Thinking' smiley, as in we'll be left wondering what is going on)
If it has to be anyone for a short term fix, I would rather get Mick back for the season. If it is Paul Lambert that will really be the last nail in the coffin of the soul of Ipswich Town Football Club. RIP ITFC 1878 - 2007
