I thnk he will struggle to get in the side in the short term so can see him asking for a move at some point. This would be a shame as he is a useful squad player and great passer of the ball.
Agreed but he seems constantly to be too weak in CM. Cabella has been criticised for being knocked off the ball too easily but the same applies to Anita IMO. He hasn't been able to dominate a game or an opposition player in the way Tiote can. I feel he will always be on the fringes here but would be better suited to a continental team where physicality plays less of a part in games.
I quite like him but he looks down the pecking order. I can see a move for him, probably to somewhere where there is less emphasis on the physical side of the game. He'll need replaced.
I would be frustrated if I were him. He arrives a full dutch international and is currently behind two goodish youngsters in Colback and Abeid. Properly so in my view but it still must be hard to take
I like his versatility as he can cover at fullback too at times. As a bloke though it's good to see he's not moaning and whining like some have in the past. If he went I'd wish him well and thank him for his loyal service.
Nice lad, but the simple truth is, he's not good enough, either that or Pardew can't get the best out of him. A decent offer and he'll be gone.
Looked the part but I think the league is to fast and physical for him,saying all that he does seem to just get on with it.
I've never been very impressed by him. 2 years in and he's still contributed very little, so move him on in January or the summer.
