So the WWF (not Vince McMahon) have said that humans are responsible for 60% of animal going extinct. They reckon even if humans were wiped out it would take thousands of years to readdress the balance.

All I'm saying is we weren't here when the dinosaurs were wiped out. So is it really us?

Also this whole faux outrage when the likes of that gorilla got killed. I live in stoke and if I woke up to someone saying all the world's gorillas had been wiped out, how does it affect me?

I don't suppose this affects you either but as long as there are pieces of dog **** like this walking the earth then the earth is basically ****ed.

I can only hope this sub human gets eaten alive by a pack of hungry lions one day.

It really all depends, Gorilla's extinction won't affect us directly, the earth has a very diverse ecology, enough to compensate the loss of one or two high order animals from the chain, I expect, but other things we do could theoretically cause a global trophic cascade, it's quite possible that we have already have and it's only a matter of time. People will deny anything is wrong, of course, and listen only to people who tell them what they want to hear, ignoring any evidence to the contrary. We've poisoned the air, the sea and the land, and I can only see it getting worse.

I think Saxton and some of his buddies could have been ... Dunky was probably a form of excremental pond slime back then and is unique in being the only organism to take an evolutionary u-turn ever since <laugh>

I often wonder if there’s any species left that enjoy a good quality of life on the whole. Look at chickens. I’d rather be extinct than live in a 3ft cage with 80 other birds, force fed 8 times a day then lobbed in a rotisserie oven at the end of the week.

If they do whatever they want and still eat dog **** then I fail to see their quality of life.

uninteresting factoid, gulls are usually monogamous within their colony, if a pair 'divorce' it has a social cost for thewm within that colony.

Nothing to do with it affecting us...I sometimes wish The Planet Of The Apes concept was real..that'd be funny to see when all the scummy humans that treat nature with disrespect are getting their balls ripped to shreds.

I know you follow the stuff I do and all the signs that are getting hidden by governments and NASA are sort of burning a hole in their arse. For me, we are a couple of scraps away from a major war, a Chinese friend of mine told me last week that they are preparing for it. The signs that human power and greed is going to go bang looks realistic but our observers from above have known that for a while now.. You know what I mean.. <ok>
