Apologies for forgetting the Isle of Wight. And in case there are any spelling detectives out there tonight, I meant to say Sussex. Saints are the 5th biggest team in the South of England at the moment behind the 4 of the London teams. There is potential for growth but it will take a considerable effort to capture the imagination of youngsters away from the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. Let's hope Saints become the first choice of everyone supporting football in the next five to ten years in this part of the world at least, and then beyond.

I like us sneeking up on the blind side... suits me fine thanks.

Me too. If they want to underestimate us thats fine with me. In fact, and I'm saying this without researching it at all, it seems like we struggle against the teams we should expect to beat.

If you're a smallish club and not one of the high flyers either then you need something else to get you more mentions. We could have followed GMI's advice and got

I will take minimal mentions and MP please :)

And it has traditionally suited me FLT, but I don't think it's going to remain like this.

Promotion has done that already, amazing the number of people in Hampshire who suddenly remembered they were massive Saints fans. Still can't complain, only gonna help the club in the long run, I just wish more people would watch Championship football. Yes it's not as good quality but it is still very enjoyable to watch and much more competitive.

You're thinking here and now. If you're Cortese/Liebherr this isn't what you bought Saints for. I don't think it has even properly started. At present, all we have is the fans back from the previous St Mary's years in the PL. That won't be deemed enough, in my opinion. If the super megabucks are to appear in merchandising/sales then SFC has to become a known good word in everyone's mouth. That'll take time, investment, and trophies.

One season back in the Premiership and now we're all aggrieved because we don't get treated like big shots? How much coverage did we get in League 1? or the Championship? I was - in fact I still am - genuinely disgusted by the failure of much of the media to even acknowledge the existence of football outside the bloated, overpaid, over exposed Premiership. That's a real affront to tens of thousands of proper fans up and down the country, and it hasn't changed just because we're back in the so called big time.
