Wow, Ki Sung-Yueng currently in action for South Korea against the Black Stars. Just two minutes in and he put Majeed Waris out of the game with a dodgy tackle! Looks more up for it than he ever did with us! Luckily Wajeed's replacement, Jordan Ayew has been very influential in the game scoring 1 and involved in the second to make teh half-time score 2-0 to Ghana. Will update on how Ki goes in the second half.
Quiet second half from Ki, like a lot of the pre-tournament friendlies I think the onus is on not getting injured more than anything else. On a side note, former Swans target Albert Adomah looked good when he came on, setting up the fourth goal, wonder if he's still on our radar?
4-nil! Helluva warm up that. I fancy Ghana to squeeze past Portugal in that group. Re: Adomah Good player. Just had an excellent season for Middlesboro though. He'll no longer be the bargain he once was as they are a big club trying to get back into the Prem and won't allow him to leave on the cheap.
I just think he's a detriment to squad cohesiveness at this point and don't really want him , brings to much baggage from being here already----although I see Monki is ready to offer him something .On the plus side , if he does stay , Ki underachieved when he was playing for us imo and maybe his best will come out this time .
Lack of motivation maybe? Having a fixed amount of games written i to your contract could possibly do that! Monk has been talking him up so looks like we Will be having him back, we cant have the board looking like they got a signing wrong can we? Especially one that cost £5m . He has done ok for us but i would rather JDG . What i saw of him up in sunderland wasnt any different to here and in fact its fair to say that su derland got the wins when he wernt playing!
Agree with Norway on this. I Like Ki and he has the ability to be as effective as JDG if not moreso but fact is he isn't.
We need more bite in midfield and neither Ki nor JdG offer that. Of course they do offer other things but it's a question of balance and we do need some more steel in the side.
Thats what he was bought to the club for but it looks unlikely he'll have much game time next season with us . I hope I'm wrong and time can be a healer but too much went on last season with the "unrest " within the camp i suspect to think anything has changed since he was frozen out of the squad
I'd rather Poz than any of them, between Bony and Chico ( if they stay ) there is enough badass to hold our own
