Jose for 2 seasons now has been one of everyone's favourite players. After reading his latest comments this morning though, I am very angry with his attitude and timing of his comments. He states we are not performing well (don't understand that one) and he is flattered by interest by Villa (the same Villa we beat 6-0 and that are in decline, behind us in the premier league table). In my opinion we do not need players with attitudes like that. Play young Ferguson for the rest of the season and let Jose stew in his own juice.

    The quotes contridict themselves

"Our goal at the start of the season was to qualify for the Europa League."

"With three more wins, we could be safe, which has always been one of our main objectives."

    So which is it????

I've never trusted the press and belive they are taking quotes and twisting them into what they want.

Europe isn't out of reach, Liverpool are in 6th and 4 points clear of us. That is not an unrealistic target and I'm sure the players and manager have done the same calculations as us as to where the european spots will land e.g if Arsenal win the Carling Cup or one of the top 4 win the FA cup.

    More media bullshit IMO

I fear this isn't media bullshit. Jose has obviously said something, which is really annoying!

Evra has just signed a new deal at man utd so will Jose go there? Please not Liverpool or Villa.

I want the best for Jose but he is forcing himself away I feel, it would have happened if he had kept his trap shut anyway.

i hope so. it looks a lot different to the quotes attributed to him yesterday in various other media.

I guess the spastic hacks in the sun have had enough time fugure out how to stick the word 'unsettled' into a seemingly harmless comment attributed to Jose.

what do we expect him to say? "man utd and liverpool are interested in me? i'm proper gutted as they're crap sides?"

I'm not doubting he has said some of this stuff, but the media have a habit of twisting it around.

When he says he was promised so much which NUFC havn't delivered, he was probably promised European football when he signed and look where we ended up!

All footballers should have aspirations to play at the highest level (Champions League and for Country) and Jose is no exception.
They even quoted him as saying he loves Newcastle and the fans, so not as if he hates the place.

And if Man U or Liverfool are said to be interested in you of course you'll take it as a compliment as it will fit his own aspirations. Villa well you've got me on that one!!!!!!

They've done the same with Barton in the Metro this morning "I'm leaving if we don't sign 5 New top players". Yet he was saying he wants to see his career out here and has only said he expects the club to spend if we are to compete and push on. Nothing about leaving FFS

Soon to be revealed through the press:

Jose wants to be bummed by RIP BT and is flattered with his attention.
Jonas wants to fist RIP BT as his affections are missed
Colo has cured gonorrhoea using an AA battery, 2 month old brie and a teapot.
Tiote likes to eat small children but only of they've been inoculated against the flu.
Nolan is in fact a 3ft tall transsexual who wears stilts to play football.
Ranger likes nothing more than staying indoors and discussing the life works of Voltaire
Barton injects gin direct to his brain so no-one can smell it on his breath.

I think out of the big teams only Spurs would be likely to come in for him as BEA is dodgy, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal all have good left backs and City have spent shed loads on Kolarov (not that it will stop them spending more tho I suppose). Can't really include Liverpool as they are nobodies and as for Villa <laugh>

This. Plus, as anyone who read his twitter feed will probably agree, his grasp of the English language, while good, isn't 100%. I think (I hope) something has been lost in translation here.

In the past (twitter for example) Jose's English has been terrible therefore some of his quotes have got lost in translation and caused confusion and the same could have happened this time. However with him refusing to sign a new contract until we are save even though anyone with half a brain cell would see there are much worse teams than us and we are safe. That sounds like him being awkward so he might have said the comments but I'm not sue he would have asked to got to Villa. That sounds a bit bizarre considering were going to finish above them and do the double over them.

I think we're clutching at straws here. If there is no truth in the reports then he should get himself on here and explain himself ;)

IMO it's the usual the media have a sniff of something and we are doing pretty good at the minute, so let's throw a spanner in the works to try and **** them up!!!!!

The transfer window shut nearly a month ago and nobody can leave come the summer, a lot can happen between now and the summer. Why would we even entertain any transfer talk when nothing can be done.

I'm gonna make a statement and stick by it that Jose will NOT GO ANYWHERE this summer and WILL sign a new contract. He wants Europe, if we don't get it this season we've definitely shown the potential to get there and since we're safe as he wanted, he'll be as good as his word and sign on the dotted line and we'll kick on next season.

Sometimes when you're English isn't the best, you may say things that come out wrong or misinterpreted or give the press a field day for mis-quoting you. Take that into consideration as well.

IMO I would be flattered if the so called big boys showed an interest, but as mentioned already the only one that would come in would probs be liverpool. Couldn't see him knocking evra out of the man utd side. I like jose and only hope these quotes have been taken out of context, at the minute he is integral to the way we are playing. Just hope against Bolton everyone shows him what faith we have in him and ensure he needs to stay

I think that him talking to the press is either agent trickery to improve his contract and get his name out there more, and/or to put the pressure on Ashley to do something in the summer and show some ambition for the club by spending on quality, as Barton has recently been doing. From there the media have probably twisted it to be as sensationalist as possible.

For a club that others like to remind us have neither won a league title or silverware in decades, I'm always astonished at the media interest we have always generated.
