I will be going to my first proper Liverpool game tomorrow (very excited!) and was wondering how long it should take to get out of Anfield after the game? and then to Lime Street Station. My train is at 6:44 which im assuming would be enough, but it would be appreciated if any regulars could advise me on timing because I absolutely cannot afford to miss that train. Thanks!
It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes after the final whistle to get to the other side of Stanley Park where the buses are parked.
It MIGHT be a tight call , usually the 400 games finish at about 555, then it usually takes 7 min say to exit the ground( depends on seat location) and about another 7 mins to the bus stop, then youve got the journey, in heavy traffic .I think it may be a close call, BUT there are usually loads of taxis near the ground at the end of the match, Id see what time it is when you get out of the ground and make a judgement then whether to get a taxi ( about £7 ) or the bus, OR you could even walk in fact I would say thats your BEST option, its about 2 miles from anfield to lime st, Id print a route off the net and do that,as the time you are waiting in the queue for the empty bus you are making your way there Hope you have a really good day anyway mate the 4pm Sunday games usually have a pretty good atmosphere, I will be there myself in the main stand
It would be a better idea if we're 4-0 up to leave 5 minutes early. Just to avoid the crowds and to ensure that he gets back to where he should be in time to get his train.
Just walk up Oakfield and you'll get a taxi somewhere around the Breck Rd junction or along Belmont Rd
42 minutes if you take all the side streets, 45 if you stick to main roads. According to Google maps. I was going to replay saying 40 minutes was bollocks, and it will take at least an hour, but I must be a slow walker, since Google backs you up. I vote with the 10 minute walk to Breck Road, and either a taxi or a bus from there.
