    The year I first started going to Anfield. Used to stand on the Kop. Best place in the whole world.

    Great video,However thats not 1979.I'll tell you why.Liverpool didn't sign Mark Lawrenson or Craig Johnston until the summer of 1981.

    Has to be after that i would have thought as we didn't have the crown paints sponsor until the 82-83 season...

    It was Hitachi in 1979.

    When Crown paints sponsored us, they used to bring a massive model of a paint tin to the centre circle before kick off. '82-88 they sponsored us for.

    The video may have been 1979 in parts, but the players they showed weren't there in '79. Skippy and Lawro didn't join Liverpool until 1981. Phil Neal finished playing in 1985 as did Barney Rubble. So judging by that it's after the start ofthe 82-83 season.

    The first player in the clip looks like "He's fat, he's round, he bounces on the ground, Sammy Lee". Could be wrong though, it's pretty poor quality.

    In order of appearance I reckon it could be:

    Sally Lee
    Ronnie Whelan
    not sure
    Ian Rush
    Skippy
    Barney Rubble
    Lawro
    Phil Neal
    Alan Handball

    Anybody else have any insight??

    I 1st of all thought it was Citeh, 5 mins before kickoff, til the This Is Anfield plaque was shown. Cracking clip whatever the year (1982 ?)

    Yeah the Crown Paints sponsor is visible.So its not 1979,as we were sponsored by Hitachi.I reckon its 1981-1982.
