According to the BBC gossip pages, looks like Chelski are open to offers for the mercurial Frenchman aws they rebuild for next season.

Okay, he is 32 and can be a moody git at times but has a wealth of experience and a good fitness record. Scored a goal every 3 games in the EPL and over 440 EPL games to his name. Not being used as an out and out striker and still a goal every 3 games?

Would anyone be tempted for a 2 year deal? Could be used as a winger or striker and I reckon not a kings ransom to buy? Wages may be the stumbling block mind but he is an excellent footballer and destroyed us this year at the SOL on his own? I'd be very happy if we got this calibre of player and is 10 times better than the likes of Boothroyd and DJ Campbell IMO.

    Any thoughts guys and gals?

I would self abuse for 3 days if we signed Anelka.

    He's a fantastic player.

Finisher, creator, and as we saw when he dropped deep at the SOL this season, vision and passing.

Maybe he'd cost £6million due to age, and 50k a week, he'd be worth every penny.

The major downside to this deal would be the one you mentioned at the end: wages. I would imagine that he is on a lot more than we could afford to pay.

The only problem is wages, but if we managed to buy him I would be forced to shout '**** YEEEEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!!!' at the top of my lungs for 7 days straight.

Imagine a strikeforce of Pavyluchenko, Gyan and Anleka plus one other (maybe WElbeck on loan again)?

    Awesome?

Anelka's agent (his brother I believe) has always moved him to whoever has the most dosh on the table at that time, hence the reason he was known as a bit of a mercenary for a while. Although I would love to see a player of his quality wearing the red and white stripes, I just can't see us being the team who would pay top dollar for his services hence he'll end up elsewhere. Personally I think Chelsea should give him at least another year at their place, I remember watching him at the SOL this season when he crucified our defence with both skill and pace.

Them 3 and Bothroyd would do me mate.

    Them 3 alone.

It's not impossible, it's likely his last contract, so maybe he'd take less, i doubt he's skint.

I watched Hulk a few times in the Europa, and i didn't see a player who would be great in the Prem.

I could be wrong, but that's how i viewed him.

There's apparently gonna be a firesale at Valencia, what about showing some real intent and going for Soldado? He'd cost a ****ing fortune, but he's young(ish) and he is a wonderfully natural and instinctive finisher.

Totally agree mate. When this lads name was talked about in Jan i made it my business to watch whenever I could, as I knew nowt about him to be honest and in the 3 or 4 games Ive seen since he has looked less than imporessive to me. He would be found out hugely in the EPL IMO and I'd rather spend my money on proven EPL players. This Gamerio is another one who will cost 10 or 12m but is a huge gamble IMO.

Strikes me he's strong, and quick and has a fierce shot on him.

    So was Emile Heskey.

He's not great on the ball, and i think better quality defenders would nick it off him, and he wouldn't get space around the box as a striker in England to get the left foot hammer off.

That leaves you looking at his use of the ball in tight space, and instinctive finishing, and in my opinion these were the 2 areas he lacks.

A good player, and a lot of potential, but absolutely not for us.

I could see him doing great in Italy, and struggling in England, Spain or Germany.

He'd cost £20million+ as well, which would be daylight robbery.

I did the same as you, and after liking the sound of him in January tracked him through the Europa.

Anelka still has good pace about him so I would say yes if we could satisfy his wage demands, which I doubt. Still would have thought a Champions League side somewhere would come in for him.

I heard they are talking about getting shot of Malouda as well! He has been awesome the last 2 seasons but would take a miracle for him to end up at the SOL

Imagine though, dog **** down the left for years then Malouda.

It's less likely than a virgin woman in the Bigg Market, but ****ing hell what a lovely thought to have.

The thing is Chelsea will probably let him go to Bayern Munich (as they have been linked recently with him) for the same amount N'zogbia would cost but lets face it hes a Champions League player but maybe he saw us down at the bridge and thought, "I would like to join Sunderland one day as they will treat me better then Chelsea have", this is all purely fantasy of course but its nice to dream

Hulk is great in the Portogeuse league, but the lad I'd really like to see in the Pl is his strike partner Falcao. Honestly, he is a class act.

Falcao a far better footballer I agree but he too looked too light-weight for the pace of the EPL. Would he not get kicked form arsehole to breakfast time and be squeezed out of the game?

Maybe I'm way off the mark but he is certainly a better striker mate.

I think Falcao could cut it, he's no smaller than Gyan, and he's a fantastic finisher.

    Not the quickest mind.

He'd get some service of Malouda as well ;)
