Never heard of this Anel chap?

Newcastle United are opening talks with Anel Hadzic according to reports in Bosnia.

Hazdic is a defensive midfielder who plays in the holding role but can also play wide right.

anel hadzicThe player’s representatives are due in England to talk to two Premier League clubs, which are believed to be Newcastle and Everton.

Hadzic has also revealed that he already has an offer on the table from a Serie A club but expects to make a decision this coming week as to his next destination.

The midfielder turns twenty five on the opening day of the Premier League season and joined Sturn Graz only last summer.

Arriving as an out of contract free transfer, Anel Hadzic only signed a two year contract and the fee is expected to be no more than £2m.

Bosnia –Herzegovina had an appalling World Cup which allowed Nigeria to qualify alongside Argentina, but on a personal level, it was a highlight for Hadzic as he made his first starting line-up in the 3-1 win against Iran.

Do we need another holding midfielder? I'd suggest this is one area where we are strong, certainly I'd be surprised if an out of contract player from the Austrian league to trump what we already have.

Though I'm sure Mr T would love a player named Anel.... :D

According to the Chronicle the player himself has been quoted saying he hopes to sign for NUFC and that the deal should be done over the next week.

If he can play wide right then it sounds like he would be more defensive minded perhaps. We will definitely need that if we have to replace Debuchy with Santon!

Will go nicely with Siem - our cheaper alternative to Grenier. And World Cup star Super Shola, our cheaper alternative to Shola, Remy, Luuk de Jong and Ba.

Yeah apparently this guy is massively quick. Looks like a cheaper alternative to janmaat honestly. If pards is looking to play 3 CB's next season then he could be a replacement for debuchy.
