"Andrew Lonergan has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent deal.

The goalkeeper arrived at Fulham last summer and went on to make 31 appearances for the Whites.

Everyone at the Club thanks Andrew for his efforts throughout the season and wishes him the best of luck during his career."

Lonergan had 1 year left on his contract plus an option so presumably we got some money. Also suggests we'll be looking fo a replacement - going back for McCarthy of Palace looks on the cards?

On the assumption that we'll desparately try to off-load Stekelenburg, we'd currently then only have the two younsters (Joronen and Rodak) behind Bettinelli. Believe both have overcome the trauma of the Magath days and, especially Joronen, must be on the fringe of making the break through. But not quite yet - and not in the Championship.

Ljke you rosc, neither do I see Bettinelli being the one to take us forward next season. I've got my personal obsession about how he stabs at the ball, with no follow through, at kick outs (which I'm convinced affects his accuracy). But that apart, his main problem is a hesitancy to come for crossses and defend his 6 yard box. However if we do go for a new, experienced No.1, do you reckon Marcus would be happy to hang around as the understudy? He did after all, allegedly, decline joining Chelsea because that would have been his role.

Betts was unlucky last year with his injury. I think he he's ok as the number 1 and can improve further.
