Is his recent form a blip, or is he starting to find himself sliding off a bit I know he is only 32 years old but I have to say although I have been in the past a big fan of Andy Dawson.( I also think he did a good job in the Premier League) He has however been having a bad run of form in the last few games, I have been focusing my attention on him and he has been making a fair few mistakes, getting skinned too easily, booked a lot, making poor passes, loosing possession high up the field and failing to deliver the ball into the box.
I like Dawson, he's only playing as badly as the rest of the team. I'm sure if the team ever finds actual form (and I'm not talking an opposition mistake or a penatly) then so will Dawson. Honestly can't understand why Dawson isn't viewed in the same light as Ash.
I hold him in a very high regard and have defended people knocking him in the past but he has been a bit poor in the last few games hope he turns it around.
i think its the formation, hes used to people covering him and hes no longer got the pace to make up for it, hes a solid defender, lacking a right foot but hes pushing forward because we dont have any width and getting caught, i think its just a blib, id like an attacking minded pacy left back but dawson is more than solid.
I have to agree with Beverley Tiger on this one. Dawson has hit a bad run of form of late and he now needs to raise his game as competition is hotting up in every department. His delivery hasn't been as clinical as we'd expect from him and I think Nige has been on the case. Hope he has a cracking game tomorrow. Come on Andy ..."Let's be having you"
I think I'd prefer a square peg in the round hole as opposed to switching Rosenior and letting McShane get torn apart by Taraabt (sp) perhaps Chester or even Devitt someone reasonable quick who can match Routledge for footspeed.
Always loved Dawson, such a great player and I thought he was one of the most successful at making the jump. Part of me was gutted he didn't win player of the year last season
He's been a great servant to the club, but there's no doubting that he's been poor this season. The holding and shirt pulling because he can't keep up with the players he's tracking is happening ever game now, it's regularly costing us free kicks and could easily be costing us penalties. He's fine as cover, but he's no longer playing at a level that's good enough to get him a starting place in the current team. The fact that we have no natural second left back is surely being addressed at the moment?
Does he just need a rest? I can't think of many games he's missed (baring suspension) in the last few years, I'm sure he's played all this years league games.
Great servant, but struggling because of pace and IMO pace alone, most of his bookings have come from holding players who are going past him, and trying to pull players back who are already past him. Surely a younger pacier replacement who could come in and be helped to establish himself by Daws, but also may encourage Daws to step up his game. Was never the fastest but lately he seems to have lost the ability to think ahead giving him that extra yard advantage. First time on this new site, so hello again to all of you who have transferred from 606. By the way OLM I used you as my referer if that's not too much of an imposition, you have been suggesting to all to come on here.
There's no doubting his commitent, but I think his days are numbered. He can be good in dead ball situations, but we have a number of players now who can deliver a mean free kick and corner. It is a shame to see the old stalwarts go (assuming he is going) but I am pretty happy about the influx of new young hungry players that the management team have brought in. What we were told by Leicester fans about their shrewd acquisitions looks to be not far wrong.
