Just read the comic today aka The Sun and found a story stating that Newcastle would of been willing to sell Andy Carroll for as little as 1m English Sterling.

The tabloid managed to get a hold of Fat Ash's business plan which was drawn up when Newcastle were relegated to the Championship.

If the story is true it makes the deal in which Carroll went to the bin dippers seem like even better business than what I 1st thought.

And a lot better than Fat Ash expected.

Chances of it being true are something in the region of 0.001% I think.

The day i beleive that rag is the day we get linked to a cut price deal of 10m + Ameobi for an 'unsettled' Messi. He loves the toon and found winning the treble every year at Barca a bit samey.

It may not be true but you just imagine Fat Ash willing to sell Carroll for £1m back then.
Especially he never thought of inculding a sell on clause when we sold Milner

The same piece said that Jose could of been sold for 3.5 million. It's now nearer 10.

Don't believe thats true, remember alot of teams like Wolves, Bolton, Stoke ect, were interested in him back then and i'm sure they would have bid if 1million was the price. Remember he had 3 goals in 6 PL starts. I did read i think it was in the chronicle that back when he was 19 we offered him to Preston for 2 million but they thought the price was too high!

If this doesn't prove that going for the youngsters is the way forward then nothing does.

If someone who's own club rated as only being worth £1million turns out to be a £35million pound signing then we should be snapping up every kid possible. Granted it may not work at times but when it does then it pays off big time.
