    Mark Lawrenson on Andy Carroll's move to Liverpool to boot: "I think £30-35m is a lot to pay for Andy Carroll seeing as he is a young and relatively unproven striker. He has been out injured for a while too so they will need to get clarification that has cleared up...."

    Newcastle really saw them coming. Hes such an average player made out to be better than he is because hes english. if he were scottish noone would know his name. Sad but true

    I might be proved wrong, but I thought that even in today's transfer market Carroll would be worth about £10&#8211;15m. Couldn't believe it when I heard what Liverpool were offering.
