Colchester United release midfielder Andy Bond We've just released Andy Bond this week, given how highly John Ward regards the lad and his habit of signing former players, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him sign for you lot this window.
No idea why Ward signed him on loan last year - we needed a winger (still do!) not another central midfielder.
this wont happen ward was asked live on the radio after beating crawley in the cup midweek if he would be trying to sign bond as he was released that day. ward stated that he will not be going after bonds signature and has no interest in signing another CM. ward went on to say that he did have a chat with bond once he heard that he was released and explained he doesnt need another CM where we have enough players in that position already and further players returning from injury who plays at CM and can play at CM like woodards and clucas. ward said the funds left in the wage limit that he has available will be for wingers/strikers who can improve the squad and add something to our cause. ward then finished by stated that he has no interest in signing bond.
Agreed - he was a square leg in a round hole when he was with us. However, he's not what we need now.
